i dont think an apple system would survive. there has never been more than 2 or 3 mainstream systems out at a time, there just isnt enough room to go around for a 4th. the only way it could get a foothold is if it came out with like ten AAA titles off the bat. but then which console would it sqeeze out? More than likely, the ps3. Apple also isnt known for making cheap to buy products, so i dont think it would be in direct correlation to pricing of the wii, keeping it from that market.
I just don't think apple has the S**t to make a gaming console. I think though, that if they managed to get a foothold, they could easily rape the PS3.

before i say this please understand i am writing this thread from a powerbook. i love macs for general use and have a laptop but my desktop remains running xp well mostly because i'm a computer science major and most of the work we do in school is on the xp format so its easier. Now i love xp and would never switch back although i really like the mac laptops and will probably stick with them until i am forced to do work on my laptop. Anyway off subject...
Is it me or does anyone ever think "games" when someone says apple... i mean i love apple i think there hardware is genius but why would they try to break into a console market when for 10 years they have been unable to even touch the pc game market... just my two cents.
what games would it offer? the "how do you feel game" with a smiley face, or the "are you sure you want to delete that?" game?
plus, as it has been pointed out many times, it will have it's own proprietary everything, more so then sony, and it will basically crash every time you launch the browser or try to open word. stupid macs.
Bring it on. Maybe they can come up with a new gaming innovation. And if it rawks then the other consoles could adapt it (not like that hasn't happened over and over this gen). Four consoles would be a bit much so I don't see it happening though. Imagine 4 machines each with their own exclusives. Gaming competition is great for every system involved.

if next gen is now, then would it not be current gen, and if its not part of the next gen, then therefore its last gen, and if its last gen why is it selling so damn much?! i guess people just love playing w/ their wiis in the dark of their livingroom.
