It's a rumour, unless Microsoft says it, take it with a grain of salt. Although I could see a XBL price cut happening.

I haven't heard of such a thing, and live is only 50 bucks, but it would be nice if it were for free

this is one of the longest things ever holy**** u always hear this **** so far it has never been true they will not make it free untill the subscribers start 2 complain dont u see right now all of us that are signed up are happy and dont complain about paying so y the **** should microsoft care if there charging us

I dont think its going to be free.. but a price reduction is imminent. We already saw a lot of retailers selling the 12+1 code for U$ 29,99. Thats my bet on the new price range.

There is no way that will happen. One thing I did see around December or early January was Amazon selling xbox live 12 month subscriptions for $29.99. Microsoft might be lowering the price, but for sure not making it entirely free, especially with the many new members who join xbox live as each day passes.

This rumor has been around since LIVE came out. The only time that MS will make LIVE free is when the PSN is almost as good as LIVE, then they would have to make it free. But for right now, LIVE is by far the best online service out and the PSN is still a long way from being a service as good as LIVE.

Microsoft already has millions that pay for Xbox Live right now. I really don't think they are going to drop that money for a free service. I think it's pretty much widely accepted that even though the PS3 has free online it does not match what is offered on the 360. I will happily pay for Xbox Live. I Live the service and use it every day.

doubt it man...live has got plenty of gold subs...plus this is what microsoft makes alot of its money from...and i am glad to pay 50 a year if it means the service isnt like psn
