First time I heard this, but I seriously don't think its going to be free, xbox makes alot of money from live, I think they will keep it, maby sooner they might lower prices for year or something, but I doubt it will ever be free. Though if it does be free, that would attract alot more people to xbox.

I highly doubt it. Microsoft makes tons of money from Xbox Live, and although it would be nice for it to be free, $50 a year is actually a pretty good deal compared to some online gaming services.

Xbox LIVE is suppose to be free between the end of March to April 3...
Although it is only going to be for a weekends worth
(I think it's an April Fools joke, that would be mean...)

It'll probably never happen as MS is banking on it. I like it better this way, we have enough a-holes as it is, I don't want to see how it'd be if it was free.

I doubt Microsoft would ever stop being money horders and make LIVE free. Not the way this world runs.

I seriously doubt it. That is one of their main sources of income.
I could see the XBOX 360 itself being free before XBOX LIVE (just like with cellphones and their plans).

i beat it isnt going to be free and if it is no u wont get a refund they make alot of money and its not free to run xbox live or host i should say so they would owe money if they did so no

Microsoft does make loads of money from xbox live. Not just the service itself, but from the marketplace. I would estimate millions of dollars every quarter is spent on something xbox live related. Its insane how people don't realize spending $50 for a year, saves you around $30 or more dollars, than buying it monthly, or even tri-monthly.

A 1 year card +1 one free month once a 1 year = $50
A 3 month card every 3 months for 1 year = $80
A 1 month card each month for a year = $96

So, its cheaper to buy the one year subscription, in the long run.
