thinking of ditching my 360 because of these Avatars

I am thinking of ditching my 360 because of these pathetic avatars that I loathe with a vengence! I hate them and I hate MS for even saying yes to them. Is it possible in any way to delete the section "MY XBOX" and market place but keep my Gamertag? And if i was to create a new Gamertag would I still be lumbered with an Avatar. WHY MS why in gods name did you add these monstosities? You have gone really down in my opinion of you you are now nothing more than a console for immature babies.

....umm...sucks for you then? Avatars aren't that bad. Your bitching for no reason, rarely any games even use them so your only seeing them on MY XBOX and Friends section from the dashboard.

still dont see the issue, too hard for avatars? Avatars not manly enough? Or are you NOT man enough FOR avatars? Muhahahahahaah

Wow... there are much, much bigger things to be upset over.

Avatars really don't impact your gaming other then when you first had to pick an avatar. After that, you never have to do anything with it again. You can keep playing your games and play with friends.

Easy workaround = set your settings to boot the DVD/Game instead of dash.

Yeah i was gonna say that too. if you just stay away from the main screen, you really wont have anything to with them. This isnt a reason to ditch the 360.

It might not be a reason to ditch the console it self, but it is definitely a life and death situation. Somebody's maturity and manliness are in serious jeopardy here!!

lol? if avatars on a game system annoy you THAT MUCH, you really need to find something else in life to do. No way would I ever throw away my box just cuz it has stupid characters on it...

LoL, that's incredible! I wouldn't ditch my 360 simply because of the avatars or even because they re-sorted the way the market place is set up, or any update for that matter.. those things are petty in comparison to the wide array of games available to the 360! That's not even including the online capabilities of these games, and how great the online is on the 360. If they bother you that much you shouldn't look into a wii they have similar creatures called mii's!!

Just dont mind about those avatar, i guess MS wanted to make something to compare with PS3's virtual world. Maybe they shouldn't, i dont care about it but don't make it such a big deal.

You can set it so that you don't have an avatar. I just don't remember how. There are some settings in the dashboard where you can turn avatars off.
