I was (well i am asking myself) about using a laptop hdd instead of the ms hdd, is it possible?

Nope.

The MS HDD is a 2.5" removable one, I don't think a laptop uses removable HD's anyway...

i think he means connect his x360 to his laptop and transer the data to the laptop hard drive.
and xpitbull: i dont know. maybe through the ethernet port. or when ur connected with the windows media center. i dont know, those r just thoughts

an external harddrive works fine if you want to stream movies and music, but not LIVE and gamesaves

because people, this is how MS will get their money. It's a marketing ploy, they would lose so much money if you were to use your SONY Vaio's HD or a SONY HD for your MS Xbox, Sony would get more money whereas MS would lose its money to its rival, sony.

I'm not sure that you can. maybe by USB with a harddrive.

Using an external hard drive or memory via USB will let you ONLY stream music and videos (and others.) but you wont be able to upload anything to it.
Xbox360 uses external media sources as read-only .

god get over yourselves people, this thing is made fro gaming, sure its gonna do other stuff but ur an idiot if ur buying it for any other purpose than gaming, pay the evtra hundreed bucks, get the premium with the MS hard drive and be happy. do you really needto have movies on ur hd?? u gonna carry it over to ur friends house or somthin?? stop ruining it before its even out
