Default I need some advice...

I am 15 years old, and I have easily enough money to buy a 360. I've been waiting for it since May 20th, the day I pre-ordered, and have been saving my money and biding my time until it's release.

But my family is having a little financial trouble, and my parents think spending $500 on video games at this point is unacceptable, even though it's my money. I feel guilty even thinking about buying it, but I don't think I can resist.

Now, I've been thinking it'll be easier if I buy it as a Christmas present, but I don't know if I'll even be able to get one if I don't get it at launch.

Also, I am in no sense of the word poor. But my Mom is having trouble at work and wants to switch jobs, and my dad, who is a real estate agent, just hasn't been selling much of anything at all in Manhatten since 9/11.

What should I do?

Each person has their own response to moral dilemas'. If it were me, it would depend on how bad the situation was. If you had a 360, but no electricity, what's the point or if you had a 360, but no food. My wife went through something similar a while back. Her mom just didn't make enough money to pay the bills working 55+ hours a week, so my wife had to help her out before we were married even though she was 21 at the time and had bills of her own. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it for now. There is still plenty of time for things to shape up before the launch.

It's not that bad a financial situation (we can support ourselves), but my parents just think that I shouldn't be spending over $500 on video games...

I suppose the questions I really need an answer to are

1. How can I convince them?

2. Can I even get a 360 after launch but before Christmas?

1. Just say the media features (burns DVDs{not really sure on that}, connect iPods, MP3 with USBs, etc) and you could play Xbox games too.

2. Yes just check Walmart, Target, or any big retail store people wouldn't check (*cough* sam goody, costco *cough*).

I decided to write them a 3 page letter explaining everything to them, and I think I have them won over.

Not really. When I got the Sega Saturn, my dad always played Virtual Cop (or any lightgun shooter you can think of) and he still does to this day.

Well I'm getting my Xbox for Christmas, my birthday and for good grades(also about $100.00 of my own money). But to get off topic you should come to Flordia the real estate is really hot down here. If I where you I would ask for it for you birthday, Christmas and what ever money you have.

We had a '93 Volvo (piece of **** car, but drove like a tank) but after Gas prices got ridiculous we sold it.

Remember, I live in Brooklyn, an extremely urban area. I don't need a car.

I already have enough money, and I really want to get it at launch.

BTW, my Progress Report GPA is a 94.6 which is really good.
