Default PlanetXbox360's 1st Official UFC 2009: Undisputed League (World MMA Classic!)

Hello all, today we are announcing two brand new tournaments for our members here at PlanetXbox360. The first we’d like to announce isn’t strictly a tournament, but something more than that as we are introducing our first ever UFC 2009: Undisputed league. We are fairly confident that this game is going to explode onto store shelves on May 19, 2009 so we are putting our full support into its online community with our very own online league. Let’s dig deep into how to sign-up.

Sign-ups:

1 – You’ll need to be a member of the forums.
2 – You’ll need an Xbox Live Gamertag
3 – You’ll need a valid e-mail address so your opponents can get a hold of you.
4 – You’ll need to provide your time zone so players understand the time differences and can plan matches accordingly.
5 – You’ll need to pick TWO fighters in TWO DIFFERENT weight classes

Example of a sign-up (my actual submission into the league)
1 – Forum Name: Caspel
2 – Gamertag: Caspel
3 – E-mail: DG423@chartermi.net
4 – Time Zone: Eastern
5 – Fighter Selections: Anderson Silva (Middleweight), Kenny Florian (Lightweight)

As you can see, we are allowing for players to select two fighters since the league is set up a little differently as players will be going through a series of matches in their “region” before advancing onto a tournament. So let’s discuss the rules and regulations.

Rules and Regulations:
1 – We are supporting all the divisions provided we get enough people to join the league (82 fighters in the game / 2 = 41 people in the league).

2 – It’s first come, first served when it comes to fighter selection. We are using AUTHENTIC FIGHTERS found in the game. NO ONLINE CREATIONS.

3 – Fighters for each weight division are broken down into groups of 4 or 5 fighters depending.

4 – Every fighter will face their opponents 3 times in their individual group. They can play their matches anytime they’d like to before the deadline. So if you’d like to play one and take time off to get back to practicing since you lost, you are eligible to do so.

5 – The two best fighters from each individual group will move on to a one loss tournament for the grand prizes for each division. Think of this like the World Baseball Classic.

6 – Every fight shall have the stamina bar turned off to create a more realistic fight between the participants.

7 – If there are any discrepancies on results or your opponents please e-mail or private message me and we’ll handle them privately rather than publicly on the forum.

8 – The league will start the following week after the game releases around May 25.

9 – Players will have two weeks to play their opponents in their group to advance onto the tournament.

10 – Please leave immaturity and bigotry in your own home and not on the forums or via communication with your opponents. If you are reported as becoming overly aggressive with your language from your opponents, you may possibly be disqualified.

11 – Groupings of each division will unveiled once everyone has joined and we are ready to start. If you have any knowledge of where fighters train at and where their hometowns are, then you’ll have the basis on how the league has been set up when it came down to grouping them. This is the closest you’ll see to the Olympics in MMA haha.

12 - Players MUST post their results in this fashion:
Chuck Liddell defeats Tito Ortiz via KO/Sub/Unanimous Decision at (3:00 in the 1st round). Rating: 5/5 stars. The rating is how exciting the match was to you; it's purely opinion.

13 – Rules are subject to change until the league commences.

We aren’t ready to fully reveal all the prizes, but we can guarantee you that it will be worth your time. We are working hard with THQ to coordinate prize packages to our winners, so stay tuned as they sponsored our last tournament and most likely will lend their support once again. As of this moment, we have two prizes to unveil to you for the potential five winners of each division.

Prizes:
1 – $50 Gamestop Card
2 – Xbox Live Arcade Game of Your Choice (list to be provided later)

More prizes will be unveiled like I said, and each of the five winners will be ranked from 1st place to 5th place as “Pound for Pound” best fighters via their results, activity (how often they view the forums), a ‘tribunal’ of their peers ranking them. These three things will play into how each of the 5 fighters are ranked when the league comes down to the endgame.

HOW TO POST RESULTS:
Players MUST post their results in this fashion:
Chuck Liddell defeats Tito Ortiz via KO/Sub/Unanimous Decision at (3:00 in the 1st round). Rating: 5/5 stars.
The rating is how exciting the match was to you; it's purely opinion.

In conclusion… please have fun and let us know if there is anything you need answered or clarified and I will gladly help you out.

first let me say that this is a great idea, but the sad news is that i won't be able to partake as the game doesn't hit shelves here until 2 weeks after the US release

but if (and hopefully you will) you do another one of these events after the UK release i'll be in it for sure!

Eastern - I guess, same as New york? LOL
Fighter selection: Wanderlei Silva (LHW), BJ Penn (WW or LW whichever Pegger doesn't want).

In order to avoid confusion, I can substitute for Frank Mir (HW) but I would rather go with BJ...

Oh, we won't be using BJ Penn in both divisions currently. That may come into play in the next tournament/league we throw. So I'll write you down for Frank Mir.

someone beat you to Shogun, you'll have to pick another fighter.

That's all good with me. No post count or anything was needed. You can have both of them

Damn like everyone's taken! haha

1. bhhawks78
2. gamertag ninjaplzzz
3. email brentnahmias44@yahoo.com
4. Eastern but I'm an insomniac so w\e is fine with me usually

Edit again..: Damn I can't read! haha

5. Gabe Gonzaga (Hw) and even though I hate him with a passion Forrest Griffin (LHW)

Random question, when brute forcing subs or sub breaks is it better to mash just 1 button or all 4 face buttons? The tutorial isn't clear.
