Why should i buy both a 360 and PS3!!!

Okay ive notice on quite a few sites that there are a large amount of people that are gunna buy both the 360 and the PS3. Okay fair enough im buying the 360 and it is highly likely that i will get a rev aswell.

However, with the PS3 i cant quite see what would justify paying out just to get the same games i will no doubt have on my 360. Dont get me wronge im not trying to start a flame war and its pretty much a garantee that the PS3 will be a huge success. I just cant seem to see what the PS3 has that isnt offered by the other 2 next gen consoles. I mean its not like they have a huge selecting of exclusives or that there Internet services is gunna be what live is today.

BTW if u wonder why i say this about the PS3 and not the rev, its because there is no doubt in my mind that rev isnt gunna be original (the controllers say it all

I would like to think that the PS3 is gunna provide something original but i see it being just a update version of the PS2 - more power but thats about it.

I suppose really im just interested in your opinion, i mean u have all heard my current opinion so lets just wait and see

Please note again this is not a thread for people to start a flame war between the the next gen - im just interested to see if u are gunna buy both systems.

I have heard the same thing over and over. I could buy the PS3, but I don't see anything that would tempt me to throw down a lot of money on a game console. I don't want a supercomputer. I want something that will change the way I play games. The Rev and 360 will do that for me. The PS3 well... can play my Ps2 game? I would just get the Rev and 360 because I can play my games in a different way. Sony has yet to wow me.

alright i am buying the xbox 3sexy and i might buy ps3 just for the new god of war game they r making.....

Well, if you look at the "big picture" behind both consoles is one thing. Games. Yeah, both the 360 and the PS3 will have extra features/function, but it still comes down to games. I personally believe the 360 will be better, but it really comes down to which platform you prefer. Most of the really good games IMO will be on both, so I would stick with the 360.

I really can't see anything short of a PS3 exclusive Skies Of Arcadia sequel making me buy one.

I've noticed that too. I think a lot of people are just confused because they don't really know what they want. It's obvious in the end people are going to see the bigger picture and the fact is it costs too much money to buy both. There's a lot of info on the 360 and it truly is a beast, definitely something that will impact gaming for a long time. But Sony has kept most of their ps3 news on a low profile.

My theory to why most people want to buy both: A lot of these people own a ps2/ps1 and psychologically have high expectations that the ps3 will meet what they want, based on their tenure with the previous Sony system they own. But are also confused because the 360 offers so much more to the gamer, it looks impressive and has really really good features and just might suit all your next gen gaming needs. So they get confused and stick with the desicion of buying "both" for now. I have no doubt that a majority of them will end up sticking with one or the other, for a variety of reasons. Cost for one. We all know next gen consoles are expensive at first, but once that reality catches up with them it will definitely make an impact.

Oh and by the way, to answer the thread's query: I know for sure I'm getting a 360. It has everything I want and need as far as gaming goes. To me, the 360 is the full, and complete gaming package. I just hope if/when they decide to release keyboard and mouse support it's only compatible for MMORPG's or at least specific games. Like strategies. But now this is off topic. End Communication!

I'm not sure if I get a ps3. It will depend on the price of ps3, and the types of games that the ps3 will have , so far as of now I am not to intrested in it I will know more when it gets closer to release for the ps3.

If its coming xmas '06 i will, im really looking for The Gateaway, Devil May Cry, Killzone 2, i will also be waiting for GTA. i JUST HOPE THEY LOWER THE PRICE TAG A BIT, you know 300-400 for me will be okay.

i dont know what im gonna do becuase some people are saying it is the same thing and others arent but depends what the ps3 price is gonna be after a while if it starts out at 500 then lowers to 300 im still not gonna get it. so i might go with nintendo/microsoft combo

I never liked the Playstation Controller. Maybe if they finally get a joystick instead of UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT

Most likely not. It's still to early to tell, but unless there is some MAJOR launch game, I simply don't see a need to buy it at launch. A major title on a playstation, would have to be a Final Fantasy game (not 11).

So, why am I going to buy the 360 at launch, and not the PS3?

Perfect Dark Zero is a HUGE title IMO. That alone was enough to push me over the edge. Factor in the other big titles, and Xbox live, and it's a great system to have on day one.

I'm spending a $1,000 on day one. Any one have $999 dollers I can borrow? (JK)

I dont see any reason to want to buy a ps3, even if its as amazing as sony claims (HA) i dont need one, any great game on the ps3 will be cross platform and play better on an 360 so i dont see the reasoning or the justifacation to go and spent another grand on a new console+games, im sure it will be cool, but nah ill pass
