Different Xbox Live Subscription Levels

We all know that Xbox Live for the Xbox360 will feature 2 different levels of subscription. Here they are outlined below:

2 types of Xbox Live:
Xbox Live Silver (no subscription required)
Xbox Live Gold (subscription benefits)

Features for Gold service
* Also for Silver
# Also for Offline

- Seamless transition to Xbox Live account from Xbox to Xbox 360
- Access to MMOs (additional fees may apply) *
- Free Xbox Live weekends *
- Multiplayer online gameplay
- Avatar for gamer profile * #

- Personalized look for Xbox System Guide * #
- Offline achievments * #
- Online achievements *
- Access to other players’ Gamer cards via Live *
- Cumulative gamer score * #
- Location/language profile * #
- Reputation *
- Enahnced matchmaking using above
- Skill level matchmaking
- Gameplay style profile (casual, competitive, etc.)
- Recent players list *
- Free and premium download game content *
- Free and premium downloadable movies, music, tv *
- Downloadable demos/trailers *
- Microtransactions *

Hmmm, doesn't seem like Gold service users get that much more than the free Silver users at this stage...

I think it would be good if they had some kind of abuse leveling system where each user has the option to report people who are being abusive, if that users abuse level is too high they get a warning, then a months ban, then a year ban, then a full lifetime ban...tht way you wouldnt have as many stupid fools messing it up for others.

silver is only like a weekends thing....it's like that hbo free trial subscription thing that everyone got years ago...

i'm getting gold. i don't care about 50 or 60 bucks a year.

video chat, my friend wants me to teach her guitar and she lives in sc....it's perfect.

i'm going gold all the way, cuz i play 5+ hours a day as it is.....sadly enough and i still have enough time for full time work and full time college and a girl friend or 2

thanks, matt for posting the features. i have been looking for that for a while now to show some of my friends.

there'll be more features announced later on though, i suspect.

Perhaps the biggest being able to play whenever, instead of weekends.

My question is; since I already have XBL, will I get the option to change my gamertag with the Xbox 360? I suspect that I will not be able to, but if anyone has heard anything, feel free to enlighten me.

yea, i think that u wont be able to change it. it might not let u cuz MS and other players might want to keep track of wat ur doin. like i heard, people can do complaints fr language or hateness torward others, or fr wat people show or do on their webcam

so does this mean all live games will have a simmilar set up to that of Halo 2's - which is brilliant

I'm not a big fan of halo2 but its so much easier to paly on live than any other game

i'm thinking so, or at least, maybe it'll already be set up like that, with the gamercard being able to access that across the boards on games.

personally i think that silver service should only get 1 weekend a month for free play, as those of us on the gold service are gonna loose out on this free service if say it was every or every 2 weekends a month.

i dont even think theyd get that much. itll be rare i think, just special promotions. maybe like halo 3 release and stuff like that

The only major thing that you get with Gold that you don't get with Silver is Multiplayer Online Gameplay and that is the one thing that Xbox live is mostly for Playing against other people so when I get a 360 I'm going to get a High Speed Internet Connection and then hook my 360 to it so I can use Xbox Live and I'm going to get the Gold Service so I can actually compete against other people and do all the other cool stuff that the new Xbox Live offers.
