ok so im pretty up there on a knowledge scale of tech. but some questions have arised

1. if i have cable internet will live be acessable?
2. where do i plug the Ethernet cable? in my computer or the network board?
3. i have Service electric if that helps...

You will be able to get on Live with a cable modem. Since you will have a computer and the 360 plugged in to use the Internet, you will need to buy a router so you can plug in both. You will plug the cable modem into the WAN port on the router, and plug the 360 and computer into the other ports on the router.

i have a router thingy and it has a jack in it not filled by a cable from the computer or the cable is that were?

you have to plug the cable in the back of the router. but you have to turn your computer and plug the router out before you plug the wire in.
