Default Ex SCEA Game Developers Build "MACHINE"

Quote:
Ex SCEA Game Developers Build MACHINE

In mid April, 2005, a group of game development professionals from Sony Computer Entertainment America formed a new independent game development company, MACHINE Union, LLC. Located just a few minutes south of downtown San Diego, MACHINE, the first division of the privately funded company, will focus their efforts towards next generation console game development.

"MACHINE has set its sights on creating great games in a highly functioning, enjoyable studio environment," says Geoff Houston, co-founder and General Manager. "Our vision is to bring gameplay and game-control back to the front."

The founders and employees of MACHINE have been previously credited on more than 20 Xbox, GameCube, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation titles. They collectively represent more than 30 years of professional game development experience.

"By June we had completed our main frameworks and art development pipelines which allowed pre-production on MACHINE's first game title to start in July," says Houston. "The game project we chose to develop presents new gameplay mechanics we hope the player finds extremely captivating. Our engine takes advantage of next generation hardware capabilities and is designed to be easily retargeted to multiple consoles."

While MACHINE representatives are unable to discuss details of the company's debut game, publishers will be able to attend the unveiling of the game project at Game-Connection 2005 in Lyon, France.

Good to see some Sony Team Talent developing for the 360.

More power to MS. I don't know why we would need ex SCEA developers to help MS and the 360, but more power for us.
