Heh, nice man. That's hardcore right there now. 1:30 at a kiosk, I can respect that.

As for the topic, I've yet to find one here in Athens, Georgia. But a buddy of mine found one in Kennesaw and said it was absolutely amazing. I myself, can't wait to find one, and enjoy it just for a short period of time. Don't want to ruin launch night..

Played them, and now I know I will like Kameo for a fact. The demo is really awesome.

Ok guys, I had a hell of a weekend...
I got some news from my buddy that his store would have the 360 kiosk available on Saturday...sure enough, as I arrived there, it was just finished being set up. By the way, it was at EB Games... I suggest that you all try calling your local EB's.

I spent about 20 minutes on Saturday, and about 2 hours today playing the hell out of every demo. It was really really amazing. I've played the CoD demo on my PC, and by far the 360 version is superior. The smoke and explosions in that game are truly amazing. It's a full 60 fps, and not a single framerate hiccup ever occurred, even when walking through two overlapping smoke clouds. The AI is smart as hell. It's not a game where you just have your way with the enemies--it really feels like they're intelligently fighting back at you. And by "you," I mean "you" as in the gamer. I played CoD about 4-5 times in its entirety this weekend.

I hung around and played the entire Kameo demo. The visuals are definitely next-gen, and although I was a bit mixed (on gameplay) when I started playing, I was completely immersed after a good 10 minutes. The demo was quite long, with much variety in the gameplay. Also, it was extremely playable; my first time playing, I was pulling some serious combos with Pummel Weed, juggling three to four trolls at a time with the warrior-focus and getting 20-30+ hits. Very very cool. Easy? No. Playable? YES. I am defintely getting this title.

As for King Kong, I've played the demo numerous times on my PC. My main issue is with the controls...they just aren't as responsive as I'd like when playing as Kong. I think this is due to the fact that he's a giant ape with slow, powerful swings. The feel of his control is probably to convey the weight of his strikes. Nonetheless, I was not a big fan of it on my PC, and likewise, on the 360. However, the visuals definitely did look better on the 360 version. As for the FPS portion of King Kong....well, what FPS? The FPS segment is so short and involves no actual shooting (just throwing spears) that I really can't comment on that portion of the game.
The bottom line is that I'm definitely commenting on the game itself, not the 360.

Now, perhaps one of the most important parts of this experience...the controller!
Holy s**t. I love the S-Type controller. LOVE.
When you first hold the 360 controller, literally within 2 seconds, you forget all about the S-Type. This is quite truly the best controller ever. It has the comfortable, palm hugging contour of the Duke, combined with the perfect size and button layout of the S-Type. The triggers and bumpers? OMG.
At first, I was worried that it would be difficult for me to quickly move my fore-finger from the trigger to the bumper. (I have no intention of using my middle fingers for triggers and fore-fingers for bumpers). This is not a problem whatsoever. The protrusion of the triggers is very near to the protrusion of the bumpers. They are not flush, but are balanced perfectly in terms of distance to provide the best ergonomics. Using the bumpers felt completely natural, from the first time I grabbed the controller. And, they don't feel all soft and squishy as is the case with the SNES and the PS2; they have this wonderful 'soft click' when you press them. It was right on. Also, the depth of the triggers is about 3/4 that of the S-Type, and again, it feels perfect. You can feel that the controller is lightweight but extremely sturdy. I cannot fathom how extremely super mega good this thing is gonna be when wireless. I just cannot get over how damn good this controller is.

Last, but not least, the dashboard is friggin awesome. It's extremely smooth and clean in its design. I know you've all seen screenshots of it, but it's seriously great to actually navigate through it. I absolutely loved it.

And one more thing...the startup 360 logo screen is so cool. Once you hit 'restart' on the kiosk, you're not expecting anything during the 1-2 seconds when the screen is black. Then comes the revolving 360 logo in a damn fluid 60fps, and you're like "whoa." Just that in itself grabbed me by the ****. Awesome.

You know what? I'm not a fanboy, I try not to be. I hope you all think that I'm not...but I can acknowledge that I might be sounding like one. Trust me, what I'm saying isn't coming from any closet fanboyishness, if I even have any. My experience was truly this great. Go to your nearest kiosk NOW and just play the hell out of it. I'm sure you'll agree with everything I've just said.

booger, good review.

I will not go to a kiosk, I do not want to lay my eyes or hands on anything 360, untill the ups guy delivers mine.

I want to relish the unpacking. I want to smell the palstic covering everything. I want my first reallife view of the 360 to be my own. The first time I pick up a controller, I want it to be mine. As i turn it on and insert a disc, i want an entire game, not a demo. All these posts are making me jones hard.

You are smart my friend, a very smart guy. You're in for a hell of a launch day. I guarantee you, you will f'ing love it. And if you have an HDTV or PC monitor, you will jones even harder. I was able to play these in 480p as well, so if you don't have access to these high resolution displays, don't worry. They were absolutely beautiful in 480p.

What games are you able to play at these demo kiosks? I see CoD2 has been mentioned, anything else?

i wont get the chance to play it until the launch day as the shops here in northern ireland never set up a playable kiosk which sucks, im just back from the local 'game' store and ask about this and his reply was simple 'do we look like were in america' so i take it there is no chance of playing it before launch lol....keep up the good details on the games guys its very useful esp for us that cant get to play the games yet.

Cool Who's Played

Seeing as he hasn't answered this post I can tell you someone else who has played the 360. paPasmerf01 has played the 360 at Wal Mart. He told me over the weekend that he had played it but didn't tell me what games were on it for the demos. Sometime soon I will go to Wal Mart and see what games are on the system. From what paPasmerf01 said the graphics are awe inspiring and are worth waiting in line to play with. I can't wait and I will give a full report when I have played the 360.

I hate Oregon right now. Not only are we the most liberal state in the union, but I've called and stopped by the 3 local Walmarts, and none of them had a 360 kiosk. I'll give Eb a call soon, but dangit! If the 360 came in a syringe injection, I'd sign up after reading your reports.

Keep `em coming, I want to hear the good news.

And is there no PDZ demo?
