Hex Symbols Turn Out To Be a Contest

October 24, 2005 - Anyone remember the strange symbols story we ran a while back. Well, turns out it's another contest. That's right, just like the origen360 campaign turned out to be gimmick way of getting people to enter a contest, so is this. Known as The Sign of the Hex, the symbol below was pictured in the previous article we wrote as plastered across various landscapes.



By visiting this site you'll be introduced to Dr. Jason Q. Lutz, a specialist dedicated to the Hex 168 phenomenon. In actuality, it's just a site that asks you to submit your own photos or short videos with the Hex 168 symbol in them to be considered eligible for a prize. What prize? Just like origen360, you'll be given the chance to attend an as of yet unannounced Xbox 360 launch event. In addition, you'll get an Xbox 360 console unit before it launches, copies of Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo: Elements of Power, and Project Gotham Racing 3, and a one year Gold membership to Xbox Live.




Public voting will determine which of the entrants will be included among the 360 grand prize winners. At the actual event the winners can expect to play the entire launch lineup of X360 games, get a few sneak peaks at games that have yet to be seen, and get the chance to receive a totally unique Xbox 360 gift. All of these launch event details are highly unspecific at this time. If you're interested, you'll have until November 4 to get your submissions in and voted on.
