well waz up! well i was at walmart and i told someone about when was the pre ordering for the xbox360 was going to be. and well he said he wasnt sure, but anyways he told me that there are going to be 3 different xbox360 consoles. one was only for games and one was for media and the other one was like a super computer. he told me that the best one would do everything like a computer. and he told me that all of them you can actually go online and browse on the web! but i am not sure. i think hes lying but do you guys think its true? please write!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a lot of responses, but i don't feel like quoting

1.) there's only going to be 1 xbox360 console, and it'll do everything you want it to. games, multimedia, online gameplay. the supercomputer stuff is crap and that walmart employee is full of more sh!t than a port-o-potty.

2.) the walmart guy was talking about a rumour that was circulating, oh i don't know, 6 MONTHS AGO and has as of a long time ago, been disspelled

3.) 278 gps is a good thing. it's gigabytes per second, and the more bandwidth you have the better your console operates (see xbox360 hardware: bandwidth threads). that's the huge choking point for the ps3, not much bandwidth. so to tout 278 gps is a good thing for the console.

yeah, i really didn't want to make 3 quotes, i'm just a lazy nerd.

and don't forget SmerF, to reduce costs Sony have removed the HDD from the 'off the shelf', standard PS3. So unless you buy it as an optional extra you're going to be stuffed when downloading extra game content such as new maps and levels etc, even downloading game patches will be a pain without a HDD. Nice one Sony

exactly. i just wonder how much they are going to charge for the HDD.

probably 30 bucks, but i don't care because I'm not getting a ps3!!! HAHAHA!! ok

and to answer your question easedrop, look in the xbox360 hardware forums and you'll be able to find it there. either citizen_x or i answered it, but i'm not much of a fan of reposting.

Ha! Walmart. Okay, bare in mind that you rarely find an employee at walmart who knows more than you. They are paid minimum wage for a reason.

I do remember that old rumor about 3 Xboxs, one w/o a Hdd, one with, and another that would connect to your PC and play fluidly between the PC & Xbox 360. At the time, I criticized that idea, and thankfully, it didn't turn out that way. Now only if Sony would wisen up to that with their multi-media platform dubbed "PS3".

As for memory, 20 gig of HD drive, and 512mb of RAM with ample bandwidth to spare between the CPU and GPU.

no not at all. the hardware doesn't add up, when calculating tsb. that ALONE puts xbox360 ahead of the ps3. also, online <360. software (games)<360. graphics<360.

Then realising the consumer won't spend the amount of money they would be asking so have to start removing features like the built in modem and HDD just to bring the price down.

The PS3 has theoretical power, but because of bandwidth, it will be a flop. All the basic hardware is there, but because of limited bandwidth and not being able to use each processor at any time and for whatever reason, it will fail.
