Posts: 62 | Anyone here get totally overwhelmed by Morrowind? I mean I bought the game back in 2002, played it for like 3 days, then quit. I NEVER quit games, I beat them all. It was just like so weird not knowing wtf to do...everything was just too **** big. Too many names, too many cities, too many guilds, just TOO MUCH.
I mean I just restarted the game, and I have no ******* clue how the hell to buy armor and weapons, so I'm fiddling around with a **** knife. Anyhow, this game is almost a total turnoff for me. Anyone else feel the same? Also, some helpful hints on general basic things I should know for this game would really help. I understand your point, but please keep the swearing to a minimum. This is your warning.

Posts: 782 | that fold out map is a huge help findig ur way around, stick to balmora there is plenty to do there and in the nearby areas to get ur skills up. also when ur jsut starting out, take whatever you can find in crates and barrels, just dont let any guards see you. do as much as you can for one guild at a time, once you get stuck move to another one and gain skill. i suggest starting out in the fighters guild its good way to get your waepon skills stated and pays well too. Just talk to people around balmora, there is plenty of easy things to get you going till you get a handle on things. hope this helps let me know if you need any help on quests and what not. |

Posts: 137 | ill help u ok, it helps to start a new game. then select moonshadow as your ability, believe me, it is worth it to steal stuff. now, when you start off go to caius casadus house, which you can listen for the city and then look at the big map to find, then ask around that town, once you find his house, follow his orders.
DO NOT BUY ARMOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, i got the best armor and weopon in the game and i never baught one piece of armor. find armor, and weaopns, on your way.if you have the goty edition, mournhold holds several thousand dollars worth of weapons and stuff for you to stal with your moonshadow ability. anyway, if you need any more help, send me a personal message, i know everything about that game, including, where the lords armor is, but i cant remember the names of towns because it has been a year since ive played it. it is such a simple game once you figure it out, i was confused in the beginning 2, but i beat it after a couple days of trying, i think it was over the weekend, because i had school. but i remember alot, dont waste your time on stealing cups and bowls, i was stealing items worth 60 thousand in the first 15 minutes of gameplay. and also dont waste your time on getting your skills up, it wont help much, and whatever you do, dont get the stuff out of barrels and crates, all worthless crap. some people will steal crap 4 hours and get nowhere. trust me. lemme know if you need help on locations of extremely valuable items, and how to get them.I picked up about 300 thousand in one trip to mournhold one time.ahhhhhhhhhhh memories, even though the slow loading times made me want to murder the game.

some people actually enjoy going through the whole game rather than blitzkreiging the the main quest and saying "im done!" running around in the lord's mail is cool and all but its even more fun finding every piece of daedic armor with the strength to wear it |

Once oblivion comes out i'll prob only be on to let everyone know if i found somthing really cool, or if i cant find somthing to save my life, its gonna be great!! |

Posts: 792 | Don't Forget.... There are vast differences in the Character classes you can choose from. Be sure to craft your character so that he/she is able to do what you want to. If you make a Spellcasting focused character and then try to play him as a Warrior you will feel like you're headbutting a brick wall and most likely Morrowind will bore you quickly.
I originally made my purchase for $32.99. and it was the best game I ever played. I recall walking to Balmore and stepping away to get a drink of water....unknown to me It started raining in-game and the sound was so convincing I actually looked outside to see if it was raining. I played through covering the main quest and finishing a handful of the guild quests. I set the game aside and then found a new fervor for playing when I found the GotY edition for $29.99. The mournhould sewers are great but sadly the city itself is lacking in realism. The Bloodmoon section is 10 out of 10, ya gotta love werewolfing your way around. |

-cablekiller | Sorry to resurrect this dead post, but in Oblivion the team made sure to make this more straight forward for the player, so you are much less confused than the third. Also, did anyone get the stategy guide for Morrowind? It's a freaking dictionary! That shows how big the world is and how long it took me to beat it. |

Posts: 10 | I am a PC user. This game is right up my ally. I have both console games and pc games and I figured out that console games in general are much more to the point and for the most part pretty short. I see you guys comparing this game to GTA... well if Morrowind is something to go off you have no idea what you are in for. It is nothing like GTA. It is however like Neverwinter nights, Icewind Dale, World of Warcraft, Everquest. To me this is like a PC game genre that is converted to console users. PC gamers and console gamers seem like a different breed when you see them in retrospect. |
