Posts: 2,248 | New article on 360 shortages! Microsoft Corp's Xbox 360 video-game machine is already sold out on some websites, including Wal-Mart, a sign that the company may have shortages when this console goes on sale this month.
Wal-Mart's site tells people to go to the store at midnight Nov 22, the day of the Xbox U.S. release. Amazon.com Inc. says the system is unavailable in the U.S. and warned U.K. buyers they may not get it by the holidays. Bids on eBay reached the as high as $4,100 this week and Thursday were as much as $1,775 for a machine with 20 games. The machine itself retails at $299.99.
"People are going to have to go to extreme measures to get an Xbox 360", said Evan Wilson, a computer-games analyst at Pacific Crest Securities in
Portland, Ore.
Microsoft plans to ship up to 5.5 million Xbox units by June, which would generate at least $1.35 billion in sales.
Consumers who can't get an Xbox may wait for Playstation 3, said David Cole, an analyst who has followed the games industry since 1994. Source BLOOMBERG NEWS
Hope you all like I found in morning newspaper today. I am so glad I pre-ordered my 360.
