Posts: 1,875 | I never play old games on new consoles. This point was never an issue with me. With the nVidia deal, I thought all games were backwards compatible now... anyone have a link with that info? Are you plannig to sell all you old stuff for the new console or not. If so, you don't need backwards compatibility, if not, then you already have a system to play those games on.
Seriously, how often do you play those old games? Once a year, maybe, if you're really bored? Pointless. |

How many people play ALL their PS1 games on their ps2, what 10% the most?
All I play now is halo 2 on line, and that’s pretty much it for me, I’m not buying any more games till Xbox 360 comes out. |

I plan to have about $500 saved up by then, and I'll get enough stuff to last me til Spring break of `06. |

Posts: 502 | its not just abouting them having a deal with nvidia, if you remember reading what ATI said there are issues where the developers made specific code for the nvidia chipset and where they just did quote unquote "wacky things" to get certain aspects of their games to work. From what microsoft said they were doing a lot of emulation to get the older games to work. And something about how more patches would come out and go onto your harddrive to make more and more of the older games work. Which I guess is fine but whichever, so long as it plays the older games I still wanna play :\ |

I didn’t hear anything about them changing their minds on the plan, but I could be wrong. |

Posts: 723 | When I had my PS2, I played all my PS1 games on the PS2. Mainly because I never had a PS1. But the same thing is going to happen with the 360, I never got a X-Box, so I hope that the few games on X-Box I wan will work on the 360. Biggest one being Conker Live and Reloaded! |

Posts: 722 | To be honest I probably won't play any xbox titles on my new 360. There's just so much new stuff to play on and off line I can't see myself getting the chance to play the older Xbox titles.

Again this may have changed as it was a while ago since I read this.

Posts: 68 | "Eager not to alienate original Xbox owners, Microsoft's next-generation console is backwards compatible with current Xbox games. However, the company is only planning to make the best-selling Xbox games compatible with the new console, and will work backwards down the list with the most popular games getting top priority. There may be some Xbox games that simply won't work with the Xbox 360, Microsoft has admitted."
Microsoft is hard at work as we speak making the Xbox 360 backwards compatible, and preparing for X05. They had no choice but to take this route, with both Nintendo and Sony adding this feature. It is unknown which games "simply won't work with the Xbox 360," but major props to Microsoft. Bloggers and developers have stated that it wil be "99% backwards compatible." |

When the ps2 first came out only 89% worked on the ps2 now toward the end of the ps2 life that is still only 96% |

Yeah thats pretty much the last thing I read as well
And I'm the same as most of you minus I mean theres like 2-3 games I'd still play from the old Xbox, so just a handful as long as those work I'll be happy |
