Default Not Impressed with 360 Demos

I played the Xbox360 at Furture shop in Canada today...Finally.

I got to say I'm not impressed with COD2...Jaggies abound and I'm not talking small, I'm talking really noticable. Plus It doesn't look much better than the PC game COD. I heard it runs a 60 FPS a second across the board...why not have an option to turn AA on, for people who don't mind playing at 40 FPS.

King Kong is was pretty good...would I buy no
Kamo was pretty good...but wouldn't buy

the games above are rentals at best.

I'm not seeing nextgen people not with these games, I'm seeing PC games...and I would go as far as saying that HL2 on the PC has better GFX. I don't get it.

Plus I'm not going to be playing on a HD tv...what to do, should I cancel...HHmmm.

I have a preorder with PD0...I wish I could have played the demo!!!

But I hoping xbox live will be a blast with PD0, thats the only thing thats holding me on.
Plus being able to stream pics music and movies.

I just hope games will get much better in the year to come.

[Title Edited]Please use a more descriptive title.

Well I hope you know that the COD2 demo and the others demo's are being ran without AA turned on so that is where the jaggies come from and #2 they are supposedly (not for sure but just what I heard) but supposedly not the final hardware/software either. Just shedding some light.

I was very impressed with COD2, I couldnt stop playing the demo once I started. My guess would be that the demo is pretty close to the final version but theyve had time to polish it up a little more before final production copy. Either way it will be an awesome game.

I don't by that the demo isn't polished...to me if I were trying to sell a product I'd have a killer demo. I believe its final.

So If AA isn't turned on...do you guys know if there is an option...I mean do you have proof.

Yeah CoD2 wasnt that sharp, but wait until they final version, the AI is amazing, the sound is very realistic, and the graphics are just perfect, but it was just a demo. And i have to agree with Jay, the game was very addictive because it was challenging, its not like you killed everybody and pass the mission, the campaign was similar to playing LIVE, enemies are real challenging

I know there is proof, it was even acknowledged by ms and cod2 developers that the demo was not final and the hardware (ms stated) that was setup at the kiosks was not final, even the woman that hooked up the kiosk at my walmart said the same thing, so just chill. The COD2 still looked amazing to me, even with jaggies.

Still, I'll take the High End PC GAMING if that's what you wanna call it. It's more than that to me though and I have a pretty hefty pc, as well as COD2 on it and I like it more on the xbox360. It will be good, don't worry.

Well, let's just say that I've been to the 360 hour tour in the UK. There they had PGR3 and CoD2 set up all over the place. One the 23" screens PGR3 and CoD2 looks rough as hell, but on the larger 26" screens, they looked incredibly smooth and detailed.

Given that builds are identical, and that theoretically the 23" screen should look sharper than the 26" one at the same distance, this means only one thing...incorrect setup. After speaking to some people there, we managed to reset kiosks, switch the cable to output HD, and set the output resolution to 720p...suddenly the games looked fantastic on all of the screens.

Please, get facts straight before dismissing something.

They probably had the 360 you played running in 480p. That has been a problem in many retail stores here in the US. It should have been set to 720p for the Samsung TV's that are being used with the kiosks.

oy oy chill out guys. Yes most kiosks aren't optimized to look like what you'll have at home. Also DONT take the launch linesup of ANY system as being what its going to always look like. This is common sense, take any original Xbox or PS2 game that came out at launch and compare it to a newer version of the game or just any other game. I mean Tekken tag at launch and even to this day nearly makes my PS2 want to explode it loads so much. And Halo as pretty as it is isn't as nice as Halo 2 in terms of the look. As is mentioned on every site at least 1,000 times launch games are usually rushed and are their first attempts at coming to grips with how to run the hardware. They'll get into a groove and find more and more things they can do that they probably didn't even think they could or especially with launch games didn't have the time to impliment. So calm down and definitely dont start calling people "idiots". Just the fact that you did that shows what kinda sorry gamer you are that you have to drop down to that level because you lack the ability to debate your opinion and just start trash talking. So chill people its gonna be fun and the games coming out after the beginning of the year till summer will get better and better and YES there will be some duds along the way just like with any system. And thats the developers fault, next gen or not developers still make crappy games.

I see your only worried are about Jaggies and PC-lie Gamming, well, the final version of the games will be way smoother than the ones in the Demos, just like Kameo. In the final version, the AA is almost perfect.

As for PC-like gamming, it depends on the game, some will indeed look and play like a High End PC Game, while others, like PGR3 and Kameo are beyond anything seen in consoles and PCs.

As far as I'm concerned, I can't remember a better console launch lineup since I play games, and that'd be 1985. =)
