Just Played NBA 2k6 and PGR 3 at my EB

All I have to say is, I am stunned. Played both NBA 2k6 and PGR 3 at my EB on a HDTV and am convinced. I wasn't sure how long I would wait in line for one, now I would seriously wait 30 hours in line for this, its worth it (I wont wait that long in line however as I wont really need to lol, but I would). NBA 2k6 looks amazing, even on standard tv!!!! All the talk about Live having better graphics than 2k6 is just crap, it has nothing better. The guys at EB were saying they had it hooked up to their standard def tv and everything looked just as good, with the colors on the HDTV being a little brighter, but otherwise just as good. I got chills playing 2K6, at first the introductions and everything were average, but then once gameplay started, I couldnt believe it. It looked like a real basketball game!!!!! The players motions were scary real. and the framerates were awesome, it all looked so good!!!!!! I am so excited now for launch!!!!!! 3 and a half more days!!!!!!!

I didn't like PGR for the xbox...is it much the same...I felt the cars in the orignal drove like tanks...any difference

sorry but completely different take on the one game, played 2k6 on our kiosks yesterday and its just like most reviews said. The player models ARE amazing. But the crowds/coaches are a joke. It looks like they dont even belong in the game. This is of course because they wanted to make launch. But still to call it amazing is nothing but silly as far as overall visuals go, but it is still a good game and better than live which was gutted and lost all its modes. And actually it DOES look better on an HDTV. Dont listen to someone telling you different. Not only do you lose a lot of the shine (thats the color you mention) you also gain a bit of pixelation as your running on a much smaller resolution, and by a bit I mean you will see a difference its pretty obvious. If your store still has the old Xbox kiosk with the standard TV in it ask them to hook it to that, then you'll see what I mean. But yes even on SD tv's they still look definitely better than Xbox games currently its just they look THAT MUCH better on HDTV. So dont try to fool yourself on that sell. Ask any PC gamer if you go from a 640X480 resolution to 1200X720 there is a HUGE visual difference. Anyone saying otherwise is delusional or in need of an optometrist and is just trying to trick themselves into believing their old tube is going to look just as good.

Otherwise yeah stoked as can be, picked up PGR3 the other day at Best Buy and ready to grab my other games and get started.

ya they just imported the coaches from the xbox version of 2k6.but who cares.......its all about the players=)

I just want to play it, and did ebgames, actually take out the demo game disc and put in NBA 2k6?

Yea the introductions and the coaches, bench wasnt all that great, it looked like regular xbox, thats what I thought at first too, but then once gameplay started I didnt care about the coaches and intro anymore.

i hate u i have PGR3 and madden in my closet cuz when i walk by and se them i start to tear. And now i have to wait outside to get one. OMG!

ya i know wat u mean.........i got nba 2k6 and call of duty 2 but no system to play it in...............

not when they are charging you 60 bucks for a game thats probably only worth 40 ^_- I'd have let it slide if they weren't charging so much. Since their whole comp out of "higher development costs" becomes BS when they are using old junk like that haha

i had a wierd dream last night that i played the 360!!!!!!!!!!!

but like all my dreams nothing worked, the graphics were crap i couldnt get to the dash board and i was playing crash team racing :S

but i know the real 360 isnt like that
