Seriously, I just went to Gamerush to preorder my 360 and they said that the midnight party is November 17, so that means taht the 360 comes out on the 18th. I asked how they know this and they said that there maneger contacted them telling them to update there systems... i guess well have to see what happens. I also posted this on gamespot........
...really, the maneger of the gamerush stores got the call from Microsoftand then he email the gamerush stores and told them cause it used to say in the comp Q4 2005, now it says 18-November-2005. They even made me a print out of all of the games they had been told were launch titles.

July 14, 2005 - Electronic Arts' The Godfather, originally expected this fall, has been delayed to early 2006, according to an announcement from EA on Thursday.
Hoping to "ensure quality," EA will now release The Godfather game for PS2, Xbox, and PC in its fourth fiscal quarter ending March 31, 2006. Next-generation versions of the game are expected later.
"The Godfather is one of the most cherished franchises in entertainment," said Executive Producer David DeMartini. "Releasing the game in early 2006 allows us more time to perfect the open-world experience of being a member of the Corleone family."
The delay isn't the only sour Godfather news to arrive recently. Just days ago, The New York Times revealed that Marlon Brando's likeness, but not his voice, will appear in the game.
Based on Mario Puzo's classic novel and Francis Ford Coppola's epic film, EA's The Godfather has players assuming the role of a small-fry mobster working his way up the family ranks. The player's story unfolds in parallel with key events from the film, and plays out in a large, open-ended game world. The game is in development at EA's Redwood Shores studio.

I doubt we'll see DOA4 before 2006 but we can hope.... |

| Why? Everything XBox sells needs to be cheaper than PS3's stuff for it to sell? Or are you planning on buying a PS3? I think that the XBox 360 and the PS3 will be very similar in cost and performance. |

Posts: 1,875 | Dang, that is a lot of good games for a starting line-up. I was planning on buying 3 games from the get-go, but now I am conflicted on which 3 to buy.
From what I understand, PS3's games will be $70 at launch. Maybe that extra $10 is for the pain and suffering of programing for the Cell processor. The Xbox 360 games will be $10 more expensive than the current titles on Xbox, which we all probably expected.
As to PIMP's statement that the Xbox 360 and PS3 will be similar... well, not so much in the cost category. Remember, J. Allard said to expect the Xbox 360 in the ballpark of $300 with a hard drive. Sony is looking at a $399 price launch, without a hard drive. I expect the Xbox 360 to drop a little in price when the PS3 finally hits the shelves. If that is true, then an XBox 360 owner could by the system, extra controller and 2 games before the PS3 owner is finished buying the console + the hard drive, no games included.
I would not be too terribly surprised if the Xbox 360 does outperform the PS3 at first. I am confident that it will be at least 2 years before developers start to grasp the full potential of the Cell processor. Thereafter, both consoles will probably mimic each other in performance, and there will be peace through-out the land. (Ha! Hardly, the console wars will rage with vehement angst toward each other.) |

Posts: 1,875 | Oh, and why are most of the games coming out on November 2 if the console isn't coming out til the 18th?
Like I said, we need something "official" to work with. Nonetheless, good find. |

Posts: 722 | Totally agree MS and the retailers need to get official lists published for the games and the release dates. Everything at the moment is pure speculation by the retailers. |

| Actually yeah, it's planned as a launch title. Take a look. http://xbox.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=5306
And to answer Grumpy Old Fart's question 59.99 is about a 10 dollar price increase from what a new game costs in the States. |
