Posts: 2 | Re: Sharp Japanese TV Hey,
Did you cross post on Gaijin Pot? I responded to someone else there, but glad to hear there's someone else looking at US 360s here. I'd like to have more people in my timezone to play with, although it can be nice to be on an opposite schedule to the whiny American 13 year olds.
You should be totally fine with a Sharp Aquos or any other Japanese TV. The only snag might be that some Japanese HD sets only have the D3 or D4 VGA looking connectors and the US system comes with component. I'm looking at HD camcorders now and the Canon model in Japan comes with the D cable whereas the US comes with component. No big thing, you might have to buy a set of the D cables seprately though. Also, the Sharp LCDs are really popular in the States so I'm willing to bet you've got composite...I know they do in the States 'cause I just bought one for my Mom..very nice tvs buy the way, good on ya'
You can get US 360s in Akihabara. You used to be able to get import stuff at a little shop way down on your left coming from the Station. It had a big sign "Messe Sanoh" There's about a hundred buildings named that, but try asking for import games. They're absolutely available somewhere. You can mail me direct at the same as my screen name: add an underscore then (a) mac com
When you do get sorted send a friend invite to: Kaijin Gaijin and lets get some game swaps/trades/buy whatever goin' on 'cause it's way too expensive here
Good luck! |
