Other Halo 3 Ideas -- Some Ideas are from two of my friends in this club
http://halo2-improvements-club.1up.com
Jet Packs
Jet Packs can be used to simply fly around the map. People who have Rocket Launchers and a Jet Pack can be very deadly. However, the Jet Pack will run out of Plasma Fuel, which will force you to find Plasma Fuel Cells around the map.
AI Bots
In offline multiplayer, you can use AI bots. The number of AI bots may vary depening on how many the Xbox 360 can hold. An example could be more than 50 AI bots. You can edit their skill, the weapons they use, what kind of character they will be (e.g. Marine, Brute, Flood, Elite, etc.), or you could set them to a standard type AI Bot.
Human Goliath
Very similar to a Mech like in the game Mech Assault. Except this one is a lot smaller and can only support 1 person. It has two machine guns as well as a missle launcher. This vehicle, however, walks very slow.
Human Hover Craft
Similar to a boat, this vehicle can support 4 passengers including a driver and a gunner. It is similar to the Alien Ghost but much stronger and slightly slower.
Human Fighter Jet
An air vehicle to match the Alien Banshee. Uses heat-seeking missles and machine guns.
Special Power-Ups
Special Power-Ups may include Shield and Speed Boosters. The Shield Booster instantly regenerates your shield if completely depleted. The Speed Booster acts like Steroids and makes you run/walk faster, shoot faster, and take less damage for a short amount of time.
New Alien/Human Weapons
A modified version of the Battle Rifle. It has a single-shot function and fires at the speed of your fingers on the controller. It's a lot more accurate than the Battle Rifle. It also causes much more damage. It has a 4x Scope instead of your average 2x Scope on the Battle Rifle.
Another weapon is a Alien version rocket launcher. It shoots a small robot, which tracks down enemy vehicles. When this robot sticks itself to the vehicle it will explode with a 2 second delay. The vehicle will be completely destroyed.
Heat Seeking Rocket Launcher
This human weapon enables users to lock-on to another person. This weapon cannot lock-on to vehicles but still can damage a vehicle but with little or no damage, unless it's a direct hit.
Human/Alien Mines
Aside from grenades, there are mines. These mines are usually used as traps. The human mine is slightly different from the alien mines. When human mines are planted on the ground it will jump in the air when an enemy gets within its radius. When it jumps in the air it explodes and instantly kills the enemy.
When a person gets within the radius of an Alien grenade it will literally jump on the enemy and stick to them. It will have a 2 second delay before it kills the enemy.
Human Shield Ability
Similar to a Jackal, you will be able to pick up a Jackal Shield as a dual wield. In the left hand you will have the shield and on the right hand you will have a SMG, Magnum, Plasma Pistol/Rifle, and any other one-handed weapons. However, the shield cannot be used as a secondary weapon. It can only be used as a dual wield.
New Grenades
2 new human grenades are Flashbang and Smoke grenades. Flashbang grenades will cause others to have a blurry screen and will be unable to fight back. Smoke grenades can cover your approach to an enemy base or even cover your sniping position.
X-Ray Vision Goggles
Used to look through buildings to see how many enemies there are. This will be helpful and will tell you where each enemy is hiding if inside a building.
Alien/Human APC's
These APC's are used as transport vehicles. Since Halo 3 will have over 50 players, this vehicle could come in handy if you need to bring 8 players to a specific area. This APC supports 8 players as well as one driver and one or two gunners.
Dynamic Weather
Multiplayer maps will have extreme weather conditions like rain, storms, snow. This will give players a good feel for the environment. It would be a nice touch to the multiplayer maps.
A New Way To Operate The Scorpian Tank
The idea is to literally be inside the tank. Now as you're playing picture yourself inside the tank. This is exactly how it will be. The tank will be able to support 3 people. That's a Driver, Gunner, and someone that operates the missle launcher.
New Version Of The Human Rocket Launcher
It has a secondary function, which allows the user to controller the rocket. Similar to the guided rocket launcher in "007 NightFire", the user will have a vision of a camera on the rocket giving the user full control of the rocket.
Hit Points
There could be specific hit points on a player. Shooting them in the head with normal weapons will cause more damage. Shooting around the chest and body area will cause moderate damage. And shooting around the legs and arms will cause little or no damage.
Squad Commands
For offline multiplayer, you can command the AI Bots that are on your team: Surpress Fire, Hold Position, Follow Me, Flank Left, Flank Right, Cover Me, etc. However, the amount of commands will be determined by the amount of directions that the D-Pad has, so basically Up, Down, Left, and Right. Only 4 commands will be available, which are: Hold Position, Follow Me, Cover Me, Surpress Fire.
Peek Around Corners
You can peek left or right when beside a wall. Similar to "Rainbow Six 3" this gives players an element of strategy and caution to slowly but surely strike your foes.
4-Player Split-Screen Co-Op Mode
A new feature in Halo's Co-Op mode. Instead of 2 players, up to 4 players will be able to play in the Co-Op feature of Halo 3.
Co-Op Online
Co-Op online will allow players to take part in the Halo 3 Campaign with many other players. An example that I would recommend would be up to 32 players. There will 8 groups of 4 players scattered around the map in which each group must accomplish specific but very difficult tasks. If one group is finished their tasks, they could find the other groups that may need help. The Online Co-Op may be different in some ways compared to the "Real" Co-Op mode. One difference could be that the Online Co-Op has added on levels that the "Real" campaign doesn't have. But these added on levels have nothing to do with the actual story. They're there to keep the Online Co-Op fresh and new.
New Camera Angles
Instead of the average 1st-person view, why not an over-the-shoulder view similar to Resident Evil 4 or Ghost Recon 2.
Stand, Crouch, and Prone
Instead of holding onto the thumb stick and having your thumb start becoming numb by crouching, you will permanately stay crouched if you press the thumb stick once. To prone, press the thumb stick twice. If crouched, press the thumb stick once to stand. When proning, it will be much more difficult to spot a sniper.
Human Flamethrower
A weapon that is found in the Halo 1 PC version. This flamethrower is ideal for taking out a group of enemies. It causes tremendous damage and can kill an enemy within 3 seconds of being caught in the blaze of fire.
Extremely Advanced AI
AI Units like the marines will constantly speak on their "Walkie-Talkie" saying random things like: "Cover me!", "Sniper on Tower!", "Grenade!", "Fire In the Hole!", "Get the *** outta there!", "What the *** are you doing?", "Ahhh ***...!", "I'm running Low on Ammo!", "Man Down! Man Down!", and dozens of other things. Elites, Grunts, Brutes, and other species of character do the same thing. Also, every single AI unit has their own Artifical Intelligence. Everything they do in the game is part of their normal AI behavior. The AI Units do whatever they want in the game, and hopefully Bungie will try to make AI Units as smart as a real player.
Interactive Maps/Environments
There could be human civilians running around the entire map. You will be able to kill them, which is the funny thing about this. Also, there could be cars, trains, buses, and different civilian vehicles driving around the streets.
Much more Complex and Bigger Maps
For Halo 3, maps should be much larger than your average Halo 2 map. Since Halo 3 is said to support over a hundred players on Xbox Live, maps should be twice or even three times the size of the largest Halo 2 map. They should add more of a complex design with many buildings, objects, obstacles, etc. An example of a very complex and large map would be a map based on a Human Region on earth. There will be tons of tall buildings as well as dozens of stores that players can walk into. So players will fully be able to roam around the entire map. There may be tunnels, bridges, many different roads and intersections. A map like this is ideal for one of my "Custom Scenario's" like the "Defend" Scenario.
Better Animation
It's weird how when you want to throw a grenade it's automatically armed. The idea is to actually see yourself pulling the metal ring off the grenade and then throwing it. Also when reloading a gun, the animation on that would be much more sophisticated and you can actually see the player pulling the clip out, throwing the clip away, and then slapping on a new magazine and then finally pulling the lever on the side of the gun to load it. So basically, just improve character animation to make it more realistic.
Destructible Environments
Being able to literally blow off a part of a building when shooting a rocket. Also, if there was a map similar to Coagulation with all the mountains, you should be able to literally shoot off a chunk of rock from the mountains. This will make the game much more realistic. Also, when throwing grenades on the ground parts of the ground should blow up.
More Realistic Battles
All the explosions and bombs and gun fire should be much more realistic like when shooting a wall with a shotgun, a chunk of the wall will blow off. Also, when shooting a Warthog with a rocket launcher, parts of the Warthog will fly all over the place and there should a lot more smoke and fire. Basically, make things seem more destructive and more devastating when things blow up and when people get killed or caught in a explosion.
Pilot a Pelican
What if we were able to pilot the Pelicans when playing multiplayer? This would be a great addition to Halo 3. However, some multiplayer maps may require a Pelican. For example, if a map was designed to have 2 separate islands with nothing but water surrounding these islands and one team was Defense and the other was offense. The offensive players would have to pilot the 5 pelicans and fly over to the other island. Now imagine seeing white streaks of sniper bullets whizzing by the ship or rockets whizzing by the pelican. Wouldn't that be exciting? Or even see those blue plasma balls from Wraiths. Now this is what I call a War for Halo 3. This is how the multiplayer for Halo 3 should be.
If I Were To Work On Halo 3
Basically, my idea is to make Halo 3 a bit more war like. The idea of massive battles, masssive explosions, tons of vehicles all working at the same time would definitely show what Halo is truley made of. So forget about all those Team Slayer games. This is the next-generation and Halo 3 should be a massive war game with over a hundred players and more than a hundred AI units. Adding in all the new ideas I have listed may totally change the way Halo is right now. Gameplay will definitely change and the way we play Halo 2 will ultimately change in Halo 3. So it's not only about getting the most kills. As my Custom Scenario's go, it's all about War with hundreds of people in one game.
However, the game modes that are currently in Halo 2 will remain, but I'd like point out that Halo 3 could have 2 sides of the puzzle. What I mean is, it will have the Halo 2 feel with the Team Slayer games and Capture the Flag Games and then there's the Custom Scenario's, which is where the massive battles and 100 player games take place. The Custom Scenario's would be totally separate from the Game Variants like Team Slayer or Capture the Flag.
But to be seriously honest, what would you rather play? The Custom Scenario's with over a hundred players and with more than a hundred AI units? or a boring game of Team Slayer with only eight people and with little or no action? Custom Scenario's of course. I think this is the future of Halo if Bungie were to consider something like this. Granted that all my Scenario's are actually used in the game and perfected for Halo 3, it will be 10x more exciting, fun, exhilerating, than the previous Halo games. Not because of better graphics but because of the massive battles on maps the size of 5 Coagulation Maps.
So if you were to compare my idea for Halo 3 to Halo 1 and 2, you'll notice that Halo 1 and 2 is more towards story and towards an individual journey through the entire Halo universe. But with Halo 3, since this is the end, why not end it with massive battles? I think if Bungie were to embrace my vision for Halo 3, it would probably be considered the ultimate next-gen game ever made.
If they were able to acheive more than 500 AI Units and over 100 players with amazing Game Animation, Game AI, Graphics, incredible game Physics with all the particles and dust and sparks that flys in the air when bombs hit the ground or when bullets hit metal walls and doors, as well as having fully destructible buildings, objects, and environments by pushing the Xbox 360 over its limits. Then yes, this would ultimately be the greatest Next-Gen game ever made. Not even KillZone 2 or any other First-Person Shooter game for the PS3 or the Xbox 360 could beat this.
What do you guys think? Give me some of your feedback or some advice on where it could improve.
