Posts: 327 | Disappointed. Well after all the hype my jury of 20 people find the 360 a disappointment
so far.We are willing to cut it some slack because 1st releases cant be expected to be to involved. If the next wave of games is'nt totally
next gen looking the 360 will get 180'd to the trash. The only improvements
are more items can be displayed on screen and the player models dont have the jaggies. When I compared nhl2k6 with my sons x-box there really isn't alot
to get excited about.I will be plunking down 50.00 on Dec. 3rd to reserve my
ps3.I have never been a sony boy but by april the 360 will be in its second round of games and they better be alot better or it is out the door for the 360.

Posts: 5 | The Xbox 360 has been out a week. ONE week.
You have a right to be disappointed with the games you purchased, but to comdemn the whole system on said games (and LAUNCH games at that) is both impatient and childish. |

Posts: 44 | I agree. Give the thing some time. I only have Perfect Dark Zero so far and I'll admit that it's not blowing me away. BUT, I can see massive potential with this system and by the spring/summer, I'm willing to bet the house that this thing will be MUCH, MUCH better by then. |

Posts: 327 | That is what I am hedging my bets against.I will at least give it a second round of game releases before my final verdict.

Posts: 502 | yeah dont sweat it. I think the main thing is you probably just had it built up in your mind to being something else right out of the gate. Have to keep in mind these games are only running on one core and yes in the rush to make launch most are just upgraded ports. not games specifically designed for the 360 (even most of the exclusives are games pulled from the xbox to go to 360) I wouldn't consider the 2nd round of games to be till around May either. Minus a few exceptions it'll be at least that long till they really start fleshing it out.
I'll be getting a PS3 later as well sometime but not right at launch. Since it'll have the same issues with most launch games being so so and even then keep in mind when its all said and done its not going to look that much if any better than 360. My reason for getting it is to get some games I can't live without that are only on the playstation. Because they aren't going to look any better. The whole new generation is all about the power to do things with lightning, AI, physics, and overall presentation. The graphics will get better but they can only go so far. Its more about expanding the gameplay this go around. Since getting rid of the jaggies and upping the textures is the most you can do for now with the graphics. And hey that got that down and you will see many more improvements with games coming out down the road on both consoles. But this is part of being an early adopter, it was the same way for me with the PS2. For around 4-5 months I had some launch games that were alright. It wasn't until MGS2 that I started to see decent games with noticably large improvements in visual appeal. We're in the transition period from one to the next. They always do it in steps its almost never a HUGE leap into the next phase since they just dont know how to do that with what they are given timewise for a launch window.

Posts: 25 | whisch store is taking pre-orders for ps3's in december. i could swear G4tv just said monday that the ps3 may be pushed back to '07. i'm still waiting for my 360. im on second shipment at eb games. however, its hard to judge a sysytrem at release. until developers learn to use the full potential of the hardware we wont know what this thing can do. im sure ps3 will be the same at release. besides, its coming out more and more that the two machines are more similar than first believed.

Posts: 57 | I don't how you could be dissapointed. I'm having a blast on Xbox live {Noobie on Live though} I think the models and bump mapping in PD0 is great. Online is a blast...and I've been a long time online PC gamer and I am so impressed with the whole community feeling. just love it.
For me that out shines the GFX in a major way...something that Sony isn't doing.
I know for a fact that games a year from now are going to blow us all away with the GFX, so I'm not worried in the least. |

We are talking Microsoft here. A tradition of unkep promises.
Take the 360 for what it is. A vidiogame console. Bound by the industry and it's users. |

Posts: 109 | I am not dissapointed in the slightest. I have a HDTV and the system delivers as far as I am concerned. I have uploaded (via CD) the emulators and have been playing some (granted I cannot play all yet) of my old XBOX games and they look great! Being able to plug in my dig. camera and look at shots in High Def., using a USB flash drive to play mp3's, Hexic, PDZ, and PGR 3 are all awesome! I am not a M$ fanboy either. I own all 3 previous Gen systems. I can see the potential and am already impressed with the present. Give it time...(insert favorite Yoda quote here).

Posts: 27 | Well, to tell the truth I never had an Xbox before, I have a PS1, PS2 and PSP, but I will get one XBOX360 on 2nd December, because I am curious about the new gen consoles and I don't want people to tell me about it, I want to have the experience by myself, of course I will buy the PS3, I was thinking about testing both and than choose the one I like best, but I decided to keep all of them(just in case!!).

Posts: 43 | Ok which games did you play other than NHL2K6??
Please compare PGR2 to PGR3.... Compare Call of Duty 2 to either of the Call of Duty games on the xbox 1.... the visuals are not even close. You picked the worst game of the launch lineup as far as visuals....
I dont understand what some people want... Having games like Condemned, COD2, Quake 4, PGR3, PDZ all at launch!!!! Thats amazing... I can only imagine how you would have ranked past launches like the PS2 and Xbox which had very weak launch lineups...
This is what happens when a brand name becomes big... more people = more haters. |

Posts: 14 | all of you guys have good points. And i'm sure it will get better if it isn't that good right now(i wouldn't know because i don't have one yet). I do think the ps3 launch will be better though. Because the ps3 isn't comin out till this spring or 2007, that means they have been preparing there system longer than MS has. The ps3 has already shown its graphic power, and it is very good indeed. (mgs 4) There are a lot more ps3 launch titles that look very good. I hate repeating myself so if yo wanna know what games i am talkin about, got to the thread that sais other next gen consoles on the ps3 ad forum. |

Posts: 341 | I am as happy as a pig in you know what with my XBox360. The NBA and NHL games are ports from the XBox so sure they will look only slightly better on the X360. From what I read, Madden '06 for the X360 was made from the ground up. I am having a blast with COD2 and Madden '06. I just got Quake 4 which looks awsome and I got NFS:MW and that one looks good too. Have horsed around a bit with GTA3:SA and Halo looks a lot better and I still have not gotten around to play COD2, Quake4 and Halo 1&2 on XBox Live as long as I can team kill that will be good nothing like blasting someone in the back. (Joke)
So I really can say that I am fully satisfied with what the X360 has done so far and am looking forward to more stuff. I really want to go out and get PDZ and PGR3 because they look really good too but I need to play around with the games I have before I go out and spend more money.

Posts: 1,875 | Comparatively speaking, I'll concur that the PS3 may have better games come launch day if launch day is in `07. Maybe not as many launch titles as the 360, but better all around. However, with that declaration I will also say when the PS3 launches, the 360 will have better games for their system than what PS3 is offering, and that has to do more with software issues than anything else.
I still haven't received my 360, despite my early pre-order and #14 status on the first shipment rank. But, I am not too angry as these launch games are nice, but not "must haves". I'm looking forward to March, with Gears of War and Ghost Recon 3. |
