Default Importing Console Experiences

Would you guys recommend importing an NTSC console?

I am speaking mainly to all the PAL guys / gals here.

Main things to consider with the actual console are power supply/games region/dvd region.

Other things are the price of the NTSC console/cost of importing the games and actual game availbility (I doubt cricket and rugby games will be coming out in NTSC).

So what do PAL country guys think about importing a USA NTSC console?

Dont do it. Games and DVD's from here will not work. And you will end up spending more importing them. Even if you imported a PAL one from England, some games and DVD's still won't work. Also if it breaks, it most likely wont have an international warranty.

And just be patient and wait for the realease here. I know its a long time and its really expencive but just be patient.

I also made a post on this a while ago on xbox.com and all the stuff i was told about importing was negative.

P.S: Do you live in NZ or Aus??

Matt id just wait but thats just me. Would be a pain in the butt importing IMO. Also its not actually that long to wait till March, and you'd have a job finding one at this stage anyway to import to NZ. And who knows, by the time it gets to NZ they may have fixed some of the reported heat/freezing issues etc.. I'd preorder when ya can though, when can u do that back home? And where? EB games etc.. i guess

Yeah I think i would wait also, it would be a pain having to find games for it and even people who will ship games and the console internationally. What was also mentioned earlier, what if you got it and it messed up on you? There wouldnt be anywhere for 10,000 miles who would dare touch it to fix it. Hopefully by the time it gets to you a lot of the small problems are worked out and you would get a all around better console than what we all have.

I think you would be better off waiting as not only would you get a native Box but also Microsoft may of sorted out some of the overheating problems by then.

If you are desperate try to get a Japanese one since I do believe that they use the same DVDs as GB and so I think they should work in NZ but I am not so sure about my region coded stuff.

If I was you I would weigh up the pros and cons but even after that you would be hard pressed to find a company that not only has a 360 but are willing to send to NZ.

While you wait why not pick up some cheap Xbox games or even a new console such as a Gamecube or PS2 as they will see over till March and they are pretty cheap now-a-days, thats what I am doing, damn not pre ordering!
