This is the age old question, so I may as well make a post about it now -

Who will win the Next Gen Console War? Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo

I'm going with MS - they have too much money to throw at this thing!

I'm going with Sony. They have already got 60% of the Japanese market interested while MS have unfortunately only got 2% (Nintendo have 8% and 30% are undecided). I don't think Sony will have as big a market share as they have this generation. I'm sure MS will eat into Sony's sales and have a bigger market share than they have this generation, I just don't think it'll be enough to take out the huge Sony fan base.

dude, I don't like Sony or the PS3. However I do try to look at things realistically and open minded rather than from a fanboys point of view.

I'm just putting over an opinion based on the size of the PS2's current fanbase and the dominance Sony have had since the launch of the PS1 back in the nineties. It'll take a hell of alot to chip away at Sony's loyal fan base, unfortunately.

I think its going to be Xbox360, the PS3 looks too wierd...the controler looks like a boomerang and the PS3 its self is plain ugly!

There will be one system with HD Games this year and its Xbox 360 so naturally consumers are going to be most interested in the first of the hd systems until...PS3 comes out. But me I'd rather by a videogame system not a grill like the PS3

Im going with xbox 360 because thats the 1 ill be getting, but i would guess that the PS3 will win overall. There are alot of people out there that are gunna want to see the sequels to there previous releases; GTA 6 through 25 etc

think about it. if 30% of Japan is undecided that means that xbox is promoting so well that they got the attention of PS2 fans. Remember japan are die hard playstation fans

To be honest I would say a fair few of the 30% are waiting to see more concrete details on the Revolution. Japan has always been Nintendo's strongest terrortary out of all the regions. Hopefully with new Japanese developers on board and the strong RPG titles the 360 has on offer, this will catch the attention of more Japanese gamers.

in terms of graphics, the xenos gpu is far greater than the nVidia's RSX...so
360>ps3 in graphics...

cpu, xenos is a monster of a processor specifically designed for gaming and virtually the perfect processor as of now, but there's not enough information on the cell functionality in gaming to accurately determine which is the better cpu....so
360?ps3 in terms of cpu power...

you're not dumb, plus i'm not all that smart in terms of tech stuff.

in my opinion (it's just opinion based on what i've read and interpreted) xbox360 is better.

better hardware, better software, better services.

Although I admire the bravado of my fellow posters, I think the poll represents a very jaded viewpoint [90% on Xbox 360 at this point]. I have read a lot on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and by my own biased opinion: Xbox all the way. But Sony has a much bigger fan base and will probably outsell the Xbox 360, though not by that much this time around (4 to 1 last console war).

Comparatively speaking, the two consoles will be very close with performance, but in the end, it really depends on the games. I'll stick with Xbox 360 because of certain franchises and XBL, but Sony is offering some nice additives as well. It'll be interesting this time next year.

Sony seems to have hyped it so much the whole PS3 will burst. All Kenny K. says is that Xbox 360 sucks and every week to act big and tough he disses MS like the spinning lying fool he is.

PS3 will win me im a ps3 fanboy but i own an xbox and not a ps2 my brother has a ps2 see wat ps2 has is well a final fantasy (excluding ff11 for the xbox360 cause tahts not really a final fantasy)gran turismo, metal gear solid, socom, and so many platformers. see xbox only has mostly fps. WHICH I LOVE!!! but they pretty much only have halo project gotham and splinter cell. BUT the xbox 360 is gonna have PERFECT DARK ZERO YAY i cant wait for that one. but who cares cause im gettin both consoles casue im gettin teh xbox and my bro is gettin the ps3.

Im looking 4 some original titles with the next consoles; i mean its all well and good having Project Gotham 3, Halo 3, GTA 5-6 (whatever it is), Gran Turismo 5... but where are the new titles. Thats why i get excited when i see titles like Gears Of War

Just my opinion but i think Sony if over doing the sequals, its not a sequal when its number 5 in the series.
