Default Backwards compatible games running in 4:3?

I am having an issue that may or not be a problem. If it is happening to everyone, I would like to know. I have a 16:9 HDTV (1080i looks great) and Halo 2, PDZ, and PGR3 all play in 16:9 in HD on my TV. When I play Fable, KOTOR, or SSX3 however, they play in a 4:3 "window" and not widescreen. Is there some secret dashboard setting I am missing? The games look good...I just want to see them in widescreen. I may go back to playing them on the old box if I can't get the widescreen support.

I know in the original Xbox dashboard there was a setting saying "Widescreen". Im sure if you look in the 360's one you will find something similiar.

its certain games. I noticed on Halo if you put it on 720p or 1080i then it forces it to 4:3 mode. However if you drop it down to 480p then it puts it back to widescreen. Guess some games just can't run in widescreen with 720p. Kinda like how Soul Calibur II would do.

On most newer games though like Halo 2 it doesn't do it at all and stays widescreen on 720p and up

I've run into the same problem with SSX3 and widescreen on the 360. Once I bumped down to 480p, widescreen works; however, this is still a problem.

1. It's annoying to do this everytime you want to play certain Xbox titles.
2. Microsoft states the following on their compatibility FAQ:

Xbox.com: Will there be any benefits to playing original Xbox games on my Xbox 360 console?

Todd: Absolutely. One of the great things about gaming on Xbox 360 is the satisfaction of knowing that every game will be playable in high definition. We are now proud to reveal that this extends to the original Xbox games as well. Every original Xbox game will be upscaled to 720p and 1080i, and will take advantage of Xbox 360’s anti-aliasing capabilities, delivering a picture that is clearer and crisper than anything available on Xbox.

I am hoping that Microsoft releases an update so that SSX3 and the other titles mentioned above can be played in widescreen AND in 1080i, but more importantly, I hope that the stuttering sound \ unsaveable game issue with SSX3 is resolved. (The sound/save game issue could just be with my setup as I have yet to confirm others having the same issue with SSX3).

Agent Smith, can you confirm for me if you are able to save games in SSX3 on your Xbox360 Premium?

Also, do you notice any stuttering sounds with SSX3 on your 360? How much time have you played SSX3 on your 360 and have you noticed anything else that isn't 100% perfect with SSX3 on the 360? Thanks
