xbox 360 wireless networking adaptor

i have a querie, will the xbox 360 wireless networking adaptor only work if you have wireless internet, or will it work with just a simple wired router?

Wireless Router you need the 360 wireless networking adapter
Wired Router you need an Ethernet cable (works well I use it myself) Cat 5 cable will suffice for your needs Cat 6 aren't worth it.

So forgive me if im being thick, but you cant stream music etc from a pc that doesnt have wireless internet?

ah right thanks, i was just wondering, because i have live and the 360 and was looking to play from a different room, because the room where my pc and router are situated at is very cluttered.
