Xbox360 Emulation and SSX3

Has anyone had a chance to try out any Xbox games on their Xbox360 via using the downloadable emulator? I have tried it on my Xbox360 but so far I am very unimpressed. I am most unimpressed with the emulator as far as it concerns SSX3 (one of my favorite console games).

So far, using the Xbox360 emulator with SSX3 is giving me these 3 problems:

1. Sound stutters during random instances in the game.
2. Can not save games to the hard drive (regular Xbox360 games save just fine).
3. Can't play the game in widescreen mode (like it can be played on a regular X-Box).

Is there anyone on this forum who has SSX3 for the regular Xbox who can try playing through a few games of SSX3 on their Xbox360 and let me know what the results are? I am using the December update for the emulator which is available here:

As a result of switching the Xbox360 to 480p mode, I am able to play SSX3 in widescreen mode, so I am updating the 3 issues with SSX3 and the Xbox360 emulator as follows:

1. Sound stutters during random instances in the game.
2. Can not save games to the hard drive.
3. Can't play SSX3 in widescreen 720p/1080i. (only widescreen 480p).

Can anyone else confirm if you have any of the 3 issues above with SSX3? Thanks

Give it time, the xbox has not even been out for an entire month. I am sure the guys working on the emulator to fix these bugs.

Can you save games to a memory stick?

I haven't tried a memory stick yet, just the hard drive. I'm hoping the two problems are related (stuttering sound / game save) as they both may have to do with how the emulation software accesses the hardware, in this case the hard drive/DVD Rom drive.

Until I have confirmation that other people are having the same issue, I can only speculate that the stutter sound / game save is a recognised issue and not something just with my setup, but SSX3 not playing in widescreen 720p/1080i has been confirmed by other users as being an emulation problem. Currently, SSX3 will only run in Widescreen while in 480p mode on the 360.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next emulation update as well because I already sold my x-box (and memory sticks) a few weeks ago and I really want to play my favorite xbox title on the 360 while I wait for some good games to come out. I played Amped 3 on the 360 and I just don't like the controls or gameplay. Sucks too because the graphics are much better in Amped 3 but the gameplay lacks compared to SSX3.

the only emulation issue I have had os on Halo 2. When the battle gets fierce, the sound gets garbled. Game play is unaffected. I know others in my clan have had the same sound issue. Sounds like the sound issue you are having.

Might be similar but also slightly different. The more I play SSX3, the more it is not just a sound stutter, but more of the entire game is actually stuttering to the point that it is unplayable (this occurs all the time and not just when there is lots of movement in the game), plus not being able to save the game also makes it unplayable since you will never be able to advance to any of the later levels without the save game feature. I'm also noticing that while it stutters, it also makes a sound like it is having issues writing to the hard drive.

I wonder how many people are running into stuttering issues with the emulator so far? Hopefully it can be fixed with an update. I currently have a case number with Microsoft on this SSX3 issue so we'll see how it goes.

I hope someone from this forum besides myself is a big SSX3 fan, otherwise problems like this tend to go unnoticed for a while.
