Posts: 961 | Online VS Offline I would just like to know everyone elses input on this. How is most of your video gaming time spent playing? On XBOX live...or in the Offline campaigns, seasons, races whatever?
Ever since i plugged into LIVE, I haven't turned back. I rarely touch the offline portion of games anymore. I mean, Halo 2 I played the absolute hell out of it, but all over the net. I never even made it past the 3rd level in the campaign, simply for lack of interest. It took me over a year and a half to complete all the challenges in NFL2K5, yet in that time period, had over 1000 wins...Not total games played...WINS!!!
XBOX live is a whole new level of playing games now. I never even played internet games before, like through the computer or whatnot. But now because of xbox, I will always be an online gamer.
Just wanted to know if i'm the only one???? |

Posts: 452 | Well, I would say I spent about equal time on and offline with the original Xbox. When I got Live, I played the hell out of it, but after a while, I moved onto other things (got into forums more), but again, Xbox Live took right back over.
But when Pro Evolution Soccer moved to the Xbox, I couldnt stop playing it offline, and I still do (I left my xbox at my dads), because I enjoyed it so much.
But with the 360, I have definetly spent more time offline than on. Which is pretty surprising since I mainly got the 360 for its Live side.
I would say the reason is becasue the majority of my friends list are always playing Single Player games, so they wont play online either (especially the clan).
But, when more Live Enabled games come out, ill be online nearly non-stop.

Posts: 961 | Yea, i know what you guys mean. But there is just somthing about fragging the hell out of people you don't even know, half way around the world in PDZ or COD2, that just never gets old to me. Levels just seem so dry now, and the so far i have not yet seen enemy A.I. that isn't predictable.
When you play online, anything is possible.
I'm not saying that i totaly abandon my single player games, especially now that there are achievments to get. That'll drive me to keep playing the offline campaign a little more... Just until i get those though. |

Posts: 575 | Has anyone ever seen the "chocolate milk kid" on Xbox live? That is why I dont play on live. I tried to give it a chance when I first got the system, and no offense, all I heard was 10 younger kids yelling back and forth. I'd mute them. More come. It is not enjoyable. I play COD2 on my comp because I was fortunate enough to run across a Group of guys that are in their 30's-40's and we can talk and have a good time. Its hard to find clans or groups on the 360 live. So that is why you'll probably never see my name on there again. Happy Fragging.
Real quick, I probably will be on to download new content.

Posts: 1,112 | Xbox live all the way. I have been online gaming since DOOM when you dial in to the other person over the modem and play against eachother. To me, no matter how good AI gets, there is nothing like beating another REAL person at the game. I try to get though the single player modes on the wierd times (early in the morning or late at night) mostly because of the achevements. But 90% of the time i am online!

Posts: 167 | I tend to play single player games first to learn controls and what not, then jump online......but I haven't played a whole lot of 360 online. Few games of COD and NFS here and there, but when I am in the mood for Online, I usually play Halo 2. The matchmaking system, which admittedly has it's flaws (don't even get me started on some of the BS I've seen from people in H2), still works pretty well, and when I can rally my friends online at the same time, my party rocks, and it's super fun.....
I wish they'd log IP addresses or something so the people that get banned STAY banned, cause the other day, this jerk committed suicide so many times, he took our team from 27 to 6 kills. We played against a team that all but one quit, and he freakin won because there's VERY little you can do against a team mate who does that.....at the end I told everyone to leave feedback so he gets banned, and he said, "I get banned all the time, I'll just use another 2 month trial account"
Anyway, idiots like that keep me away from LIVE, big time. I have confidence that the new matchmaking on 360 is going to eliminate those encounters.....cause who cares if they don't get banned, as long as I don't have to play with them again?
I will be hopping online soon in DOA4, just want to unlock that last character, then I'm all in.......
See you guys (and girls) there....... |

Posts: 1,144 | Like Kor, I mainly got the 360 for online play, but I've spent most of my time on single player games. I want to play on live more, but I just don't get round to it.

Posts: 13 | I have definitely spent more playtime offline, mainly because I think the online gaming still needs improvement. I am always online though when I am on my 360, usually to talk to friends. |

Posts: 1,875 | I rarely get to play online despite my account. One day I'll get cable. I tend to get Co-op games, but not play online. I like Live, I enjoy playing on teams, but I detest little kids, but even moreso, profusive cursing (and why do they all sound the same?). My 360 profile is for Recreation, so I hope to find less of the above listed nuisances. |

Posts: 961 | I definatly agree with you guys on the annoying little kids part, but i don't let that keep me away from fraggin the hell out of them in PDZ. Or if someone is just talkin mad crap, that drives me more to be mercyless by beating them by 20 or 30 in madden as oppose to going easy on them and winning by just a few. There is always the mute switch, which i have come to be very good friends with lately. And hopefully the feedback sys works much better with integrity, over the original xbox sys. If someone is being abusive or obnoxious, just choose to avoid the player for disruptive voice, or the other options. |
