I WAS going to quit smoking, then I got DOA4

So like the title says, I was going to quit smoking, but then I got DOA4. Dont get me wrong this game freakin rocks, but Holy heck does it cheat! Me and my friends play it like its going out of style, but when we sit down to play single player, we get frustrated. I beat the game with I think 4 or 5 characters. So anyways, the first couple of rounds are easy, then a little harder, then I will be just about done killing someone and they pull out a 23 hit COMBO!!! No lie, 23, 19, 16, 20 hit combos! Thus instantly killing the person. Me and my friends played 34 rounds against this one chick, we were the second girl in from menu, (she is a complete waste, IMO) anyways, 34 rounds, and EVERY time she would come back to hit us with a just MASSIVE combo. Thats where the smoking kicks in. And how come the comp blocks whenever it wants. I watch a replay and the computer was in the air, and as I went to kick her, she blocked it, then continued to beat the everliving crap out of me. GRRR..... I know I'm probably going to catch some flack with kids saying dumb crap like "you suck thats why!" But oh well, I just had to write it on here, see if anyone else is getting what I'm saying.

I'm with you ChuckSteak. That friggin game is very frustrating in single-player mode! I mean it's ridiculous. I get to like the 6th level, and everytime, no matter what character I am, that green, matrix looking female-dog just knocks me around like a pinball.

If you had a hard time with Ninja Gaiden (first one or black) you will get your arse handed to you in DOA4. Button mashers need not play, you will die.

Yeah, I learned that from the last two DOA's. I've been learning some combo's and whatnot, but its always either that second to last person or that last girl that will pull out a 20 hit combo and destroy me. Great game though. And as for ninja gaiden, that was one of the hardest and most frustrating games I have ever played... Very rewarding though. (just to know you did it) As for NG black, I'm going to pass

That last clone chick is hard as hell. But I didnt find her as hard as you are saying. I mean almost everytime I got there with a character it took nearly 5-7 tries to beat her. I think the best I did was 3rd attempt with Ayene. But ya I hate fighting her still. She always wrecks my time attack score.

Ya That Alpha chick is hard, she kills me like twice almost every time i fight her.

If you do not care about posting your time in Time Attack mode you can always go into the settings and lower the number of matches from 1 to 2. You can not post your time and you will not get a costume but you will be credit for the achievement if you beat it in time and it will count towards finishing all of the time attacks so you can unlock Tengu.

As for the Alpha, I found that the charectors that can take a step back to power up before they strike, as the easiest to beat her. Just stand back, wait for her to teleport close to you and then wait till she move a little bit to get into range and then just press back and one of the trigger button. You can usually nail her and just repeat until you win. This does not work with all of the but should get you some easy wins.

fighting games much like sports games are better enjoyed playing against one of your friend where you can sit back and talk smack at the other person. the game makers have to make the single player stuff hard to keep you hooked. if doa was easy, with all the playing that I have been doing on it, I would have been done by now and the game would have been put away. so I like the difficulty level. I like wanting to take may controller and throw it at the tv because console gets away with soooooo much stuff.

sports games aren't as bad, i mean they may pull off some BS, but they wont cost you the game like that jus make it interesting

the thing i dont like about sports games though is my friend beat me and another friend at NCAA football 05 by like 50... he scored 100 and we knew exactly what he was doing arghhh

Yeah, I use to smoke a pack a day, now I'm down to a pack a week. Pretty soon I'll be smoke free.

I have never been hit with anything larger than a 17 hit combo by the computer. But I totally agree with you all. The lowest difficulty (Normal) is seriously pretty hard when you are doing Time Attack or Survival. I seriosuly would LOVE to see the #1 ranked player beat the Time Attack in under 3:30 (or whatever time it is...close to that)! I mean, 16 matches...that means EVERY match has to be under 25 seconds and you can't lose once!!!! WTF....thats insane!

That Alpha clone is the absolute worst though if you try to beat her legit (not running attacks all the time or step-back attacks) She will disappear in the MIDDLE of one of her combos then hit you for at LEAST half of your life....then that grab where she looks ever-so-deep into your eyes...

Total BS sometimes....Fun as heck online though!

Yeah i have the same problem, i have beat it with all the characters in story mode but i gave up on the rest. WAY to hard to beat the time attack mode. Ill get all the way to the last or second to last person and get destroyed by 19hit combos. BASTARDS!

Hey QuantuM,

You can turn down the number of matches from 2 to 1 which will give you a better chance of beating timed attack mode. You will get credit for completing the timed attack and once you finish all of them you unlock Tengu, you will get credit if you finish within the time and get credit for those acheivements the only thing is that if you make the change, you will NOT get a new custome for your fighter. So for all the ones that do not have story mode, you have to finish timed attack best 2 out of 3 inorder to get a new costume.

yeah, that last girl is a complete *****, you might get a few hits at her, but then just just unleash a combo of hits that won't even give you a chance for a hit back. You really have to counter in that game or your dead instantly.
