Default How come in pgr3 there is no car damage?

Why is the damage on pgr3 so minimal? Could it be that with "brand name cars" in the game that car companies don't want to see their cars wrecked
out, and therefore some people will think the car actually behaves that way during an actual crash.I don't know the reason I am just guessing. All I know
is if the damage showed it would be alot cooler in my opinion.

Yes, the car companies have the definitive say on what happens because if they wanted to damage models to be included they would wish them to be representative of the vehicle in an actual collision. This is expensive and time consuming to calculate, model or test and then apply to the already existing car models. Now if you think that alomst all of the car models exceed 80 000 polygons, for this to be rendered successfully and with approval from manufacturers this would take a far greater amount of time than in previous incarnations of the series. For example in PGR2 car models were around the 8 000 polygon mark, for a damage model to be created this takes far less time as not much can be adjusted to the cars skin.

I am not too bothered about the lack of sufficient damage, I do have alot of knowledge of the subject as I have a degree in Automotive engineering but its a game that I love playing and am not at all enraged by the poor effort on bizarres part as a I know to recreate a decent crash model on a a car is a painstaking process.

It would be cool to rip the car apart tho

Yes that is one of the main reasons. Also the damage portion is integral to the games impact, so without it it would be rather crap lol For instance you shoot the back of a car with a Rocket and nothing happans, well thats realistic!!

Oh well then that gives me a confidence boost, thanks. I need it as university is getting extremely hard, but it will be worth it when I'm 20 years old and earning £50 000 a year (around $90 000 US)

That is insane, how on earth can anyone have the maturity and the responsibilty to work at 12 years old. Now come on even mcdonalds arent that desperate for staff lol.

The working age in the UK is 16, i think that should be 15 because at 15 I was starting uni and had no source of income apart from my parents, even though I was spoiled rotten (i have 4 motorbikes, a car payed for, all uni expenses and my 360, HDTV etc.....) I still felt guilty not earning anything for myself.

desperate for staff? Are you kidding? People in canada have a high aveage standard of living, and the tertiary indeustries are going crazy trying to find people who wiwll work for them. I think the percent of people with jobs here in edmonton is near 90%. Thats extremely high. Every fast food place and in fact almost all stores here have help wanted signs.

If you read what I wrote I said that "Now come on even mcdonalds arent that desperate for staff". But 12 years old is far too young for people to be working. And in the UK the standard of living is very high, but as with most countries is divided throughout the population. My parents are very well off but I know many people that aren't so.
