Default Is Oblivion suited for a typically non-RPG gamer?

I've haven't played through an RPG in years now.... when I was younger I thoroughly enjoyed RPGs such as Monkey Island (1-3) and Chrono Trigger, these are still some of my favourite games. Is Oblivion enjoyable for a non hardcore rpg fan?

With the Australasian release coming up soon I have been looking around at many games and for some reason I am very interested in this one (also I'm keen on only buying 1 game but getting maybe 100 hours out of it lol :impooremoticon: ).

Opinions would be helpful

Yes, absolutely! TESIV represents where the future of RPGs is. I spent well over 150 hours playing TES III and I am looking forward to playing an equal amount of this one, too.
There is so much freedom involved in playing this game, its unbelieveable. The radiant AI will be something special no doubt. The graphiics are to die for, you should see all the PC folks worrying over whether their systems can handle it or not! Happily, we have Xbox 360's so no worries!
Seriously, THIS GAME IS THE BIGGEST REASON I BOUGHT AN XBOX 360!

Ive never played RPG's before but I will pick tis one up for sure. The graphics do look great and I want a change from the 360 games I own at the moment.

I dont think I ever played a RPG game like oblivion before so I hope I really enjoy it. Hopefully since it has normal type of combat where you can attack and block with the triggers I will like it opposed to a pc rpg where you point and click to kill someone.

I'm waiting for an rpg for the 360 too, but I will most likely not be getting Oblivion. The setting just seems a bit too midevil-fantasy-ish for me, so I will probably continue to wait for Blue Dragon.

I don't like RPGS, but TES III i absolutely loved because it was first person, and you can go anywhere, and it was so thorough and well thought out....

even without oblivions graphics, i would still have preordered it, i love how physics are involved in the combat now

must buy

Wow i love how you can say all that and have never played it! lol

I never had the patience for rpg's (and still dont really) but morrowind was somthing i really enjoyed, the folks at bethesda just really know what they are doing so for the time being, anything they put out is as good as gold
