Dark Brother hood and Thieves Guild?!

How do you join them??
In Morrowind they made the thieves guild more obvious to join but how about in oblivion, where do I go?

For the theives guild you need to go to the shacks right outside of the two boats at the Imperial palace place. Sorry, not to familiar with the names yet. And at midnight you'll see a guy with a torch with two others with him. Talk to him, he'll give you a quest and you have to beat the other two and return the diary to him before anyone else. Its hard, so you just pick pocket whoever gets it. As for the dark brother hood. Just kill someone, and follow the directions. Sorry if I wasnt any help.

All what chuck said except you have to get invite first to go to the meetings I got my invite from a dark elf. And completed the task and I joined the thieves guild as a pickpocket. also to get invite you need to do jail time first before getting invite.

when you go to jail there is a bed when you sleep you serve time if you have it . its fun to pick pocket the guards they will open the cell and your bounty will x2 its funny

i still have not gone to the meeting place yet, too busy slaughtering people in the arena, but if you bribe the beggar woman in the market place sector she will tell you where to meet the master theif

yeah I joined the Dark Brother Hood, the thieves guild was just a little too nobel, and robin hood like , Steal from the rich and give to the poor? not the same as the morrowind thieves guild =(

to get into the thieves guild

Go to waterfront where the woman thief who is competing against you and gets diary first then u need to go to the shacks where she lives and steal it from her and return to meeting place and you will be part of the thieves guild.

Has any one been suspended from the mages guild yet?
its driving me CRAZY
i almost had ALL of my recomendations full and i went to a chest and accidently clicked above it
so they said i was stealing
i got suspended
Now i have to find 2 kind of plants
(20 of each!!)
Redwort and something else
I found like 6 redwort plants Near a cave in the FAR bottom right corner of the map
But i neeeeeed some help

i'm not too sure about the redwort, i'm looking myself, but the dragons tongue is south of Bravil. The leaves are reddish and the flower is bright yellow.

you get redworm for killing the plant like woman who summons a black bear, im not sure if you guys do the dupe cheat but it makes many quests easy.

I never did jail time and got into the thieves guild just fine. You just need to talk to and homeless person in the imperial city and get them to talk to you about the gray fox. That should set you up with the Joining Theives Guild quest just follow what it says from there.

Both Are quite easy to find but you need not search for the Dark brother hood because all you do is kill any non important person and go to sleep When you awake Lucien Lahance will be standing over you He will say some stuff then dissapper They are located in a spooky mansion in Chedynnal I hope I spelled that correctly bet I mispelled it oh well The thieves guild is even simpler go to the docks area in the Imperial city the place you are Looking for is called the Garden Of dareloth again forgive me if my spelling isn't perfect you can simply talk to the guy holding a torch I forget his name there should be a lizard guy and a Elf girl You get 2 chances to enter so don't fret if you fail the 1st test to enter the dark brother hood sanctuary go into the basement and Say Sanguine My brother and it should warp you inside

No you get Taproot when you kill a spriggan.
