Anyone got any fighting tips?

Ok I'm normally not bad at games but I'm getting my a@@ handed to me with alarming regularity, so anyone got any tips?

my character uses leather armour a shield and a silver longsword if it matters

Who are you fighting most of the time?

Is your character one who specializes in close combat? What is your level? What are you battling? What other armor are you wearing?

block an counter...use a shield.....move backward while they attack then move in when they are done with there combo and move around them and hit them in the back.

Marauders and zombies mainly some bandits.

As to level I'm currently level 6 with Blade, Block and light armour as major skills (as well as Sneak, Security, Illusion, and acrobatics)
