If you want higher levels, you need to ensure you rest every time you get that message saying "you've learned....." blah blah blah, basically you leveled.

ok, i dont believe u there cuz i wait until i get that message 2 or 3 times and i level fine, plus it doesnt go every 4; it goes every 10 levels (unless u r talking about oblivion for computer, then i dont kno.)

(not trying to be mean if i sould like i am lol =P)

Doesn't sound mean at all. I check out the Elder Scrolls forums too, and this is the confirmed method of how you level. It works even if you don't make a high level because the enemies are all based off your level.

I don't understand what you are talking about every 10 levels, could you clarify that statement? As far as I know the computer leveling system and console are the same. I've not read anything to suggest the two are different when it comes to leveling.

heres how it goes you level based on ur attributes leveling up your major skills is the quikest way u have them go up five times and u level up until ur level ten than u have to get raise ur skill up even more to like sevn or something and u can level up by your minor skills though to it just takes ten of the skills increasing instead of 5 or (7) and that is from the stragey guide k P.S. im a level 54

Hopefully by now the question has been answered fully. But, for those of you who are skeptical about whether or not you can level up beyond the magical 50, you should definitely believe the guy who said his character is level 54.

My character is currently at level 53 and as a result has a health total of 684 without enchantments. His health doesn't really matter since his combined chameleon-enchanted items total over 100, making him an invisible stealing/killing machine. In addition, the average of my enchantment-enhanced major skills is way over 100. Of course, at this point it isn't a challenge to play the game, so I haven't touched it for a while.

In any case, I waited until I had maxed-out all my major skills, which can be tortuous depending on which major skills you chose at the beginning of the game. (If I had my druthers, I would avoid doing acrobatics again even though jumping can help you find shortcuts out of dungeons.) As others have mentioned, this did not result in a level 50 character, but slightly less. Then I went to jail a few times to artificially lower some of my major skills, thus allowing me to build them back up again. This resulted in another level up. I suppose if you were bored enough you could do this many times.

Finally, I recommend going to the Hermaeus Mora Shrine for a few more quick level ups.

Highest level you can possibly get is 50(when all of your major skills are at 100) then itm cant level up anymore...( i would know im level 50)...and it also says it on oblivion.com
