Posts: 182 | Question for you PGR nuts... Been really addicted to Forza lately. And, call me crazy but I just prefer it to PGR right now. Not trying to offend anybody, I just find it more sim like.
So my question is, do you find PGR to be a great just as good a sim as Forza or no, or even better?
Reason being is that I never really got super good at PGR. Beat all the races on easy, and almost done with Medium, but just find the drift too much at times.
And the root of this could very well be that I just suck, and need to learn to play the game better. I play in manual, and that's not an issue, just with the braking. I guess I just don't feel like I am driving perfect lines while drifting so much through turns. So what style do folks drive in this, take the correct lines, using your regular brakes to brake before the turns, and accerate out, or e-brake and drift throuh them, getting more kudos as a result? |

I am pretty into Forza right now and used to be really really into PGR3 but lately Forza has been what I play except I just got new cars for PGR3 so I like those but anyway....
PGR3 isn't a sim but to me the handling is pretty easy once you get used to it. When I was younger and had Forza I really didn't like it and thought the handling was too hard but now I love Forza and can't wait for Forza 2!
In PGR I use regular brakes but if you want more kudos than use the ebrake and then accelerate out of the turn.
Overall PGR3 has been my favorite racing game along with Forza but when TDU, GTR, PGR4 and Forza 2 come out I will be in racing heaven!!

Posts: 470 | PGR and Forza are two completely different racing games. PGR is based on kudos points, and racing in style. Forza is about simulation and customization. I love both franchises.

Posts: 3,184 | Forza Motosport = Racing simulation
PGR3 = Arcade style racer.
I love both, but for different reasons. I am a sim racer at heart, and loved Forza more than any game, ever. But sometimes it is just a bit much, when all I want is a quick blast around a circuit, pwning noobs.
I am faster on Forza than on PGR....I was 3rd in the world on Forza, and around 10th on PGR3.
Until Forza 2 I will continue to play PGR, and then play Forza 2 until GTR |

Yeah, I really enjoy both too, and I feel exactly the same way about each game's style as people have been saying.
Seems like everone I've talked to about racing games lately have mentioned what a great 'sim' PGR is. I Thought maybe I was being too picky in my definitions, or driving too sloppy in PGR, or that they just were throwing the term out there without really thinking about it.
Can't wait for Forza 2, although, from the sounds of it, GTR is going to be the one I'll be crazy for. |

Posts: 1,982 | Forza was the greatest racing game I ever had the pleasure of playing... I couldnt stop playing that game. PGR 2 & 3 were great, but I dont think they are as good as a game as Forza was, regardless of what type of racer they are.
I cant wait for Forza 2... |

Posts: 1,440 | I also like Forza more than PGR for the fact it is a Sim and the customizing feature. Forza 2 will be the best racer ever released when it does come out but for now I am happy with playing Forza and PGR3.
