hey has anyone herd of all these rumors saying that if you call gamespot or EB games and you ask whats comes with the premium package and they say that wireless adapter comes with it . check out the forums of people actually calling http://360updates.com/forum/showthre...eaded#post1500
How is the wireless adapter coinicde with the controller, does it recharge it or something? The people on that forum act like they are very internet savy 10 year olds, not to be offensive or anything. Also, how does it tie into wi fi?

I thought that the premium package came with a wireless controller and a remote control (obviously wireless) to enable you to change your channels on the tv etc.
Must you title this thread in such a way that everyone automatically believes this hogwash? For christ sake man, Microsoft (you know, the company that OWNS Xbox) just released all the friggin accessories and how much they cost. What makes you think this rumor is right, in the face of an announcement of the FACTS by Microsoft (you know, the company that OWNS Xbox)
the wireless adapter is for connecting your xbox 360 on a wireless home network from a wireless router. if you had a wired router you connect the ethernet cord from the router to the back of the console, but if you had a wireless router you need the wi fi adapter to connect onto the wireless network created by the the router... wow was that a mouthfull or what! if you still don't understand, say so and ill explain it more
The XBox 360 premium pack comes with the following "wireless" options:
- Wireless Controller
- Media Remote Control (limited time only)
The wireless (WiFi) network adapter is not included in the Premium Pack, and actually costs a lot of money to buy for what it is. If you can hard-wire your XBox to your router, you are much better off doing that (using the free ethernet cable, also with the Premium Pack).

yeah, ok i know what those are now, slipped my mind. I have a wireless netwrok for the laptop, and thats really the only thing its good for. Wireless speeds might be improving with "g" and 2.4 ghz, but there are still instabilities like security, setup, maintance, and distance through walls, etc. I have my room wired through the attic/ walls/ 65 feet to the router, much better then wireless as well. prbly cheaper in the long run to!

NO WIFI in the package what you might be thinking of is the $700 plus bundle being rammed into your Hiney from EB. check out the site for the nonsense EBgames.com
I think the wireless adapter is around £60 which as people have said already is a bit pricey. To be honest your not really going to need a super fast wireless network connection anyway I wouldn't have thought. The standard 54Mbps will be sufficient for doing most things wireless on the 360. Having said all that some wireless networks can suffer from all sorts of problems, I hope the wifi drivers etc on the 360 OS are more robust than the ones in Windows XP!!!
When it comes to gaming, I never use a WiFi network if I can help it. At home my PC is hard-wired, and my XBox 360 will be too. There's nothing like a sudden loss of connection, even temporarilly, to completely ruin a game. At least if you are wired, you are only at the mercy of your ISP!
So a wired ethernet cable is better than Wi-FI ? Still not understanding the whole Wi-Fi setup , God i'm so stupid .
But hey i guess this is where google comes in . Knowledge is Power
