Ideas for next 360 UPDATE.

So. Im posting this thread to see what other people want for the next 360 update. Now im not complaining. These are just things i hope Microsoft adds.

1. A page in the Marketplace that shows upcoming Demos and Game content.

2. Multi-way chat. Up to maybe 6 people?!

3. Improved BC quality of certain games.


Now post what you want.

1. Playing a certain song or play list as soon as you enter the dashboard.
2. being able to put different pics up for each blade.
3. Add a direct TV blade.

-Multi-chat
-Place were users can put up their own content (like Halo 3 glitches videos), maybe MS can put up like a disclosure that says download at own risk
-A Media subscription service that includes music and video
-Ability to send pictures to people on friends list not just pictures from camera
-Be able to transfer files to and from a Flash memory device (i.e SD card, USB)
-An Office suit (maybe, would also be a punch to sony)
-A new blade for the suite also bundled in Microsoft Earth
-MSN messaging
-DVD upconversion if it's legal
-Fastforward and rewind MP3s
-List gamerscore in the friends list
-Dynamic Xbox 360 themes and wallpaper (maybe the aero effects found in vista)
-DVR with external harddrive, maybe a deal with a tv subscription company
-Maybe it's already planned for live anywhere but have the ability to download all the MSN games and face people that are using MSN on their PC or mobile device
-Better intergretion with Vista (Offload data to be save on PC, use it to edit content like creating cars using a creation program on vista)
-Ebay or something similar to buy stuff, also bestbuy and other big stores added to one of the blades so it makes it easy to buy using xbox 360 and use Microsoft points instead of money

This one isn't a dashboard upgrade but an xbox 360 dock with be really nice. In it is a huge harddrive, lots of USB ports, Media card slots, ethernet hub, Fans, bluetooth, HD-DVD burner, VGA/DVI out and all the other features that make it more computer like. So people have the opportunity to play games in the living room using the xbox 360 and then take it and dock it in your office and use it for more computer purposes. This won't affect people that need a dedicated computer but for some people it would be a great deal. Like getting all that for $650 and that you can use as a PC and a gaming machine. Would be nice to include a modified Vista with this aswell.

I have to agree with everything you said there.

HD-DVD players will upconvert old DVD's, so I don't think that would be a legal issue.

The only thing I would add to your list would be the ability to create and save playlists for mp3's that are streamed from a PC through windows media connect. I don't think you can do that currently, I haven't checked, but I know you couldn't at first anyway...

I curious to know how the xbox 360 will be at the end of it's lifecycle. Imagine the dashboard being fully overhauled to the point that it looks nothing like what it does now. Oh well we'll see in 2010 or 2011

I'd like the ability to download WHole t.v. shows from certain shows. And a web browser would be nice. But they shouldnt charge extra for it.

Mabye online play while downloading.

Yeah Jacksmith. That would be nice. But the reason the downloading stops whilst playing online, is because (1. The download would cause too much lag in the game. And (2. The download itself would go much slower.

Its really good that you can now start up the xbox360 to the dashboard instead of a game. Would be better if you could choose which blade it actually opens to. It currently goes to Marketplace where I would prefer it went to Media.

all i want is a web browser and messenger - you should be able to talk to your freinds on a pc while u play a game..

Lots of good ideas thus far, here are my own after reading:

- Ability to download full TV eps, movies, and maybe music (though I would prefer that to be on my PC)
- Internet Browser
- Full mouse and keyboard support for both the internet browser and FPS and RTS games
- User content on the Marketplace
- Content from a video website, i.e. GameVideos.com or GameTrailers.com, for things like video reviews, new trailers and good user content. Also, it would be a great way to show off new 360 features without having to download stuff to your PC
- Podcast catcher (or podcatcher for those in the know )
- A DVR would be great, but there's no way that would be put on
- Upconversion on DVD's

My biggest ones would be user vids and vids from a game video site. I love browsing places like that, and it could really expand the content on the Marketplace, as trailers get a wee boring after awhile.

Heres one have a xbox 360 cheats section where through the guide menu we can look up xbox 360 game cheats and walkthroughs. Also the ability to browe people gamertags without having them on your friends list.
