Posts: 4 | Madden Patch (Franchise Killer) After playing though a full season Ive discovered another MAJOR FLAW in the game.
The player progression is incomplete and flawed.
A friend of mine and I played through a season geeked up preping for the draft(using ncaa class of 07 etc) excited about how are players performed and looking for some increases in there abilities ect.. (rookies developing into starters etc..)
We advanced to the offseason to see the results only to find that
NONE of the defense players recieve awareness points.
Regardless of age, performance for that year, position played etc... They dont get smarter at all.
What they do get... a bunch of points towards there attributes (speed, agility, accel etc...(witch is unrealist also) This for ALL the defensive players.
As for the offense.
They all seem to get awareness points handed out to them like candy but the major flaw in that its ... its given out to players who dont play while the starters that do play..particularly the tight ends and offensive linemen get nothing.
After looking into it more. It was also discovered that players progress at an alarming rate.
Example; There arent a lot of players in the NFL that I can say would be rated with a 99 awareness stat. I would think that would be reserved for players that on the level of HOFs ..or great great players like Ray Lewis, Peyton Manning, Bret Farve etc... well the game doesnt see it that way.
After one season, there were 3rd year OFFENSIVE players that recieved 20 and 30 awareness points that didnt even play. Its a mess. If any of you get the chance, sim through a season. Make that two seasons ...so you can see the bigger picture.
If the defensive players dont gain awareness points that means they dont get smarter. Gaining points towards speed and other core attributes is ok but even that is unrealistic. They gain to much at one time.
If the offensive players gain it in large amounts... over a couple of seasons.. you got an unbalanced game.
And Ive yet to talk about the draft problem.
Players that come out the draft. They come out too high. After running a sim a couple of times... I discovered that evin the college players come out way too high.
This oversight/error kills the drive to play in franchise mode. Its completely unrealistic.
What makes it worst... I doubt that they will patch it. They would rather use the man hours to work on another game.
I no the game has its other flaws, fatigue, which they fixed, but theres so many other flaws. After having 2 years to develop the game and also modeling it after the current gen game, youd think this game would be the ultimate. HA!
