Ok, I have a Question.

Ok, I know this is going to sound REALLY bad, but until I got my 360, I wasnt an XBox player, so I have never...actually, PLAYED a Halo game. At all.

So, the question is, now that I want to get Halo 3 because it looks awesome, should I go back and play the others first? I mean, will it make the experience better to have the full backstory before playing 3?

Opinions please.

ooh... in my opinion I don't think you should get Halo 3 :P. But if you ofcourse must buy it than I suggest maybe renting the first 2. The single player is semi short in both of them so you should easily get them finished in a rental period!

I read the books but I never have really finished the campaign on 1 and 2. I don't know if the books helped alot, because I THINK the game had a little different story line. I'm not sure. You should rent them of you care about the story line.

i would get on you-tube and view all the cutscenes of the last 2 halo games, then hop over to wikipedia and look up the halo plot so far.

there you go ready for halo3 in about an hour, and totally free.

Play the first two....they're both great games on their own merit. I think you'll enjoy the campagin in both, it will get you up to speed in the series, you will learn the "ropes" and have fun. THEN savor the goodness that is H3. Neither of the first two are very long and both are easy to find.....not to mention inexpensive.
