Microsoft to give free Arcade game - ANNOUNCED!

With the recent Xbox Live screw-ups Microsoft has promised to give Live owners a free arcade game, but does any one know when? I think it would be better if Microsoft just gave every one like 800 Microsoft points because the problems (especially with COD4 and freezing Dashboards) have been really frustrating.

Not sure when yet. They said they would announce within a few weeks. I agree with the points. I'm not sure what they will decide, my guess would be either giving points or possible designating a new release for free. Both of these would prevent anyone from getting the same game they have already purchased. I'm hoping to hear a definitive announcement this week.

With the points there are thousands more possibilities...

the last time they gave me ''FREE'' arcade games it was junk that nobody would buy so it cost them NOTHING to give away.... Its like seeing a sign on the side of the road for ''FREE 3 legged kittens'' ..... considering that I already own any arcade game worth owning I know i'm going to get screwed by MS...

I guess by not being a whiner by nature, I'm at a loss to understand why someone would be crying over the free game when none of us know the details yet. Microsoft doesn't owe you a damn thing, read the terms and conditions of Xbox Live. If you don't like their resolution cry about it then, but the preemptive whining is lame.

If the service was down for an entire month (which it wasn't) that would only work out to around $5 that you are out, so an arcade title would be perfect compensation.

Microsoft are giving away the free arcade game next Wednesday (23rd) and it will be Undertow.

Developed by Chair Entertainment Group, Undertow is one of the highest-rated and best looking games available on Arcade. I wonder what they are going to do for the people who already bought the game? Major just said for people who paid for it already to call support. So they will have to suffer through that phone call :-) but I wonder if they will get their full 800 points refunded. That would be hella cool.

Hahaha man this is funny , my friend bought this game Undertow and had issues when downloading it (Remember when people complaiend 2-3 weeks ago about 300 not downloading properly , well same problem) So he had to call MS , wait 4-5 days to get his refund and he then re-downloaded it. It works now , but he then learns that the game is free lol ....

Man is he pissed
