On Wednesday, October 4, 2006, New Line Cinema will stage a pre-release screening of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, after which the studio will offer fans an opportunity to play the forthcoming Xbox 360 video game Gears of War.


Billed as "A Match Made in Hell," the two titles connect via their classic horror themes. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning details the early days of the psychotic Hewitt clan and exposes a certain leather-faced slasher's sick idea of family fun, while Gears of War thrusts gamers into humankind's battle for survival against the Locust Horde — a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet. This promotion marks the first time in entertainment history that a major motion picture studio and video game have been previewed together.

Fans of both the film series and the game can sign up for tickets on a first-come, first-serve basis by going to New Line's official site for the screening and choosing one of four event locations (Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Chicago).
