Default Shadowrun

Any beta testers here? What do you guys think of this game? I think it's coming out tomorrow... and it looks promising. Except the fact it doesn't have a singleplayer campaign; only multiplayer. That's a bit of a dissapointment to me, they could've atleast tried for it since they're asking $60.

But other than that, i've only seen pictures of it, and wanted to know who's actually played it or seen it in action.

I have a feeling that since there is no single player it won't sell well.

I was a tester and I am telling you now, rent it first. Its not an average FPS, its really complicated. So much so that it degrades the fun level. Learning curve of about 1-2 hours. The magic is very seamless though, and once u get better at the game and learn how to handle to complication you might enjoy it. The Bots are pretty smart.

Just rent it first and see if you like it.

BTW It is coming out tommorow

it seems to be the only title i'm actually looking forward to until August, so i think i'm going to get it. the fact that there is a training mode and bot support was enough for me to get interested. i like the idea of being able to master my skills before taking them to multiplayer. hopefully i can get my copy tomorrow since there was a delay of deliveries today.

i purchased it today, and i'm not sure about it. it seems decent, but sort of shallow. the sniper rifle is a beast though, which is always a plus in my book. i just can't see having fun with this like i do with gears, rb6, or halo 2. i was hoping for something a little better, but maybe i'll like it after a few more days. i recommend renting it first.

I called the nearest video rental place after I got off work today, and they said it should be available for rental on Friday or Saturday. I'm getting alot of mixed reactions from you guys here and many from the other message-boards i'm currently registered to.

Mixed messages aren't necessarily a bad thing. I have to take into account the endless variances in gamers, gamer attitudes, opinions, styles, and likes/dislikes. But because of this I can see what the positives and negatives are before I purchase Shadowrun.

The lack of a singleplayer doesn't deter me from possibly making this title a purchase. But it's certainly not exactly a great thing. Singleplayer gives more meat to a game and more time investment/training. Multiplayer is what draws me in & keeps me there. So, MP is what will eventually keep me playing. But i'm hearing there is built-in training and learning curves. I like learning curves, because it's what seperates the men from the boys. Learning curve = +.

Either way, i'll probably still rent this and then make a decision. Doesn't look bad, but still needs to be set that it's a top notch game before I throw my bones at it.

That would put me off any game, lots of campers and no fun is what that results in.

I beta tested it I personally did not care for the game. I got bored with the game fairly quickly did not hold my attention like other games or demos. I suggest anyone looking into buying this game rent it first as others have stated.

i picked this up today and i have to say i was pleasantly surprised. There is a pretty steep learning curve for a FPS, but this is made a bit easier through the training sessions. There are six in all that teach you many of the basics that you will need to get you started. The first three get you through weapon training and magic training. The remaining training sessions teach you about the different races that are playable in the game. All of this takes around an hour and after that you're ready to go online. I personally found it to be a blast. Teamwork is a must, without it you dont stand a chance. Now for the negatives, there's not alot of game modes to choose from, you are being charged full price for what you may consider half a game, there is a very long learning curve for a FPS, not a lot of character or clan custimization, and the graphics while good, are not amazing and you expect a little better from a 360 game.

forgot a rating, i give an 8 out of 10.

Can anyone confirm that this is a full-priced ($60) game? I have a hard time with that if there is no single player.

Consider it confirmed that my local gamestop in Washington State is selling it for $59.99 as is the gamestop website.

Ill have to pass on this one, Im still enjoying RB6, GRAW2, now Forza 2 and Dirt and Nascar on the horizon. Plus all my motorcycle parts I want. Other then that I likely would have sprung for it.

True that, only I sold my motorcycle last fall and used the proceeds to buy my 360!

Counterstrike was actually just a mod/expansion for Half life on PC. That is until the realization arose of the uber $$$$ that could be made on consoles which initiated the port. It was only a separate game on consoles, that is, until counterstrike:source evolved from the fact that CS owned web based multiplayer.... like...forever.
