Need for Speed Prostreet demo..

Well at least the frame rate seems ok...that was the first thing I was looking for after having seen the demos for the two previous games.

As far as the demo goes, the top speed run is pretty damn touchy as far as I am concerned, but I guess with practice I'll get a handle on that problem. Finally lots of tire smoke! That's kinda important to me. Engine sound is ok, I like the Forza 2 engine sounds better so far. The circle race was pretty easy to win, the controls feel a bit weird, I really have been playing Forza 2 too much. When you actually hit the brakes a bit to slow down for one of the few corners were you actually need to slow down, the car takes forever to come up to speed again...I don't know, it just doesn't give the feel of a 400+ hp car. My car in real life has over 400 hp, and if it felt that sluggish I'd ask for my money back.

I am still on the fence whether or not I should buy this game. They really should have included every available race mode in the demo, not just the two they provided. I am definitely not blown away yet by this demo and it really didn't make the decision on whether to buy the game or not any easier. I just might wait till it's in the bargain bin.

What's the deal with no replays?? Is this because 2 or 3 people in the world have the Core System without a harddrive or what?

Just because there are no replays in the demo doesn't mean that they won't be present in the retail version.

I remember when the Most Wanted demo came out for the PC, it had replays, but they didn't include a TV Camera type of replay. I was hoping the full version would have that feature, but it didn't either.

But yeah...to say how great their new damage model is, and then not have replays would be a total waste. How else could you enjoy the spectacular crashes they promise in the trailers. The purpose of the demo is to make us want to buy the full game....why not show some of the better stuff the game can do instead of feeding us a lame high speed run and a short circle tracker and no replays to really admire the graphics?

Meh... I found the demo extremely easy... Both the cars they give you easily outclass the competition... PLus I didn't even get to see a Lotus in the demo

I thought the demo was ok, till it froze my 360! Then I just went to bed. I will play it again tonight.

But after reading a few comments above, remember that its only a Demo, and much more can be present in the real game. Plus, dont compare it to Forza 2 as thats a simulation game, NFS's are arcade racers.

Also, what sort of car you got man making 400HP.

I roll in a 1996 Series 2 Nissan Skyline GTS-T producing (at the wheels) 210kw, which is about 400 HP at the Fly! Hence how I got the name Boost King for any one that was wondering!

I thought it was amazing, and IMO (don't flame me please) it's the best racing game out so far. Great graphics and great gameplay. I'm sold on it. I cannot wait for it to come out.

The game is brilliant. How CAN'T you like it. Awesome graphics, and the game is really fun. I am a race vet though, so maybe that's why. I've played nearly every racing game since 2001 (PS2 mainly, although played forza and pgr originals) and to be honest, I hated PGR3, Forza is long and boring. The Need For Speed series just kills them all. End of story.

I guess you like the arcade style racers, which I can't stand. How does NFS kill Forza? It is far FAR inferior in each and every aspect-Graphics, Physics, Gameplay both online and singleplayer, car selections, car customizations, tracks, and much more. There isn't a single thing I can say that and NFS game ever made that even comes close to Forza.

NFS does kill Forza 2 on graphics. Which in all fairness aint difficult.

They'll keep making them until we quit buying them. It's been a decent franchise for the most part, but Carbon sucked and I have little hope for Prostreet.

man the need for speed series has lost its direction. i loved nfs most wanted now that it's cheap i think i'll rebuy it. i looked forward to nfs carbon and bought it on the first day it came out. less than a month later i traded it in. i have owned it on wii and xbox and it was slightly better on wii but i still traded it in too. nfs is famous for the underground racing scene. the cop chases in most wanted is what made that game great. i think the new direction they are taking with prostreet is the end of the series. nfs shouldn't be a sim we already have forza, pgr, and gt for that do we really need another. nfs should stick to what it does best fun cop chases

I'd have to agree with sports. NFS taking the realistic route only makes them fail at it miserably, instead of taking the arcade racer and having an all around good arcade racer.
