Buying songs from GTA IV

So I heard a new song on the Radio while playing GTA IV. I think it was from Prodigy.... Dirty New Yorker. I tried to buy it directly from the game but I can't figure it out. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this....

Buy the Special Edition. It has the soundtrack included.

ya but it sucks, the only good song that came on that was Rocky Mountain Way....the rest are meh....

Agreed. The game has dozens of great songs, but the official soundtrack is piss poor.

ya i don't get why they wouldn't put the good songs on the soundtrack, doesn't make sense...oh well thats why theres iTunes

That way they can release multiple soundtrack albums.
It's like movie soundtracks that don't have the cool songs on there either, but rather music inspired by the movie. Like Blade sountrack. thought there would be some cool techno on it, instead it was 90% gangsta crap, yo.

I haven't figured that out either...but there is a slight catch - the option may not yet be enabled for EU versions as I think I recall reading something about Take Two still securing rights from publishers.

If anyone finds the option - let me know.

On second thought - I wonder if this is only something you can do with an upgraded mobile???

there is an option to tag a song in game, and it shows up in the rockstar social club online. You get a 30 second preview and have the option of purchasing the song via Amazon mp3 store.

When you hear a song in game that you like dial ZIT-555-0100 on your in game cell phone. Then make sure you are signed up at the rockstar social club: ROCKSTAR GAMES SOCIAL CLUB and have your 360 account linked. Log in and check in there for the song preview and purchasing intructions.

I believe at this stage its restricted to US only, with the possibility of it branching out in the future

I suppose they COULD have made that a little more difficult, if they put their minds to it.

You know - for all the *good* the EU is supposed to do such as collective rights bargaining across all nations (which they don't) - I often wonder why the hell we have the EU in the first place.
