Seeing as though I play 90% sport games if you consider poker and racing as sports Ive been pleased.

What is the serious flaw with mass effect? I started the game but havent found a flaw yet.

Minor texture popping, etc. Its not a major flaw. Shane has a flair for overstating anything negative.

No doubt man you could get very lost I know I did and would be ready to toss the controller through the window. Played the demo and honestly would not have even known it was Turok save for them calling you by name. It has been modernized

Just an FYI gamestop broke the street date of Feb 5th for this game and it is available now.

I picked up a copy. I'll see how it is tonight. Hopefully it will be good.

Gamestop had a ton of them on the floor for sale. For once GS does something good.

i tried the demo and have to say i wasn't very impressed. i was hopeful because i have fond memories of the original game but sadly i am dissapointed

I got the game today and have spent about 3 hours with it, so here's a mini review:

Graphics: 8/10- This game is running off the Unreal Engine 3 so it's graphics are at the same level as all non-Epic made games running UE3. Actual game looks slightly better than the XBL demo did.

Single-player gameplay: 8/10- I've only played through the first level (took about 2hrs) but I was impressed by the AI of both the human and dino enemies. The soldiers don't just run straight at you, they flank, take cover, and regroup. The dinos are fun to fight and when you can lure them to your enemies (via flares) and you see them rip the soldiers to pieces.....it's really satisfying. The firearms in the game are your standard FPS fare but the knife and bow make for some really fun stealth kills. The only 2 things that stood out as a negative were that it seemed like the aiming was a little off and there is no onscreen radar which makes spotting enemies at times somewhat hard to figure where the bullets are coming from.

Sound/Music: 7/10- Music is nothing special (game does not let you turn it off either). Ambient sounds are very well done, while the guns don't sound as loud as they should. Voice acting is mostly done hollywood actors (Ron Perlman, Powers Boothe, and some lesser known actors).

Story: 7/10- So far nothing really special (seems kinda like your standard bad guy army vs good guy squad revenge tale).

Multiplayer: 8.5/10 I only played 3 full Turok MP games and enjoyed what I've seen so far. The game types are all the FPS mainstays (CTF, Team Deathmatch, Free for All, etc.). The twist that makes Turok's MP different than usual is that there are dinos loose on the maps that will attack any of the players involved in the match. You can lure the dinos to your enemies and then take them down while they're a little preoccupied

. There weren't that many people online to actually play with since the actual release date isn't until Feb 5th (gamestop broke the street date).

The highlight I've experienced (so far) in MP was another player was running towards me and was almost dead but a raptor pounced on him and I took him down while he was trying to fight off the raptor. That guy was pissed!

Overall 8/10- It is not a perfect game but still very fun and one of the better FPS out there not named Halo or COD. The game bridges a gap between Sci-fi shooter (Halo) and military shooter (COD) and is a nice change of pace. From what I've played so far, I found it very engaging.

I finished the single player campaign yesterday (about 10+ hrs) and really enjoyed it. There were a couple parts that took quite a few tries to get through since the game isn't gimped for the casual gamer and does have decent difficulty (game has no easy mode). The reviews I read of the game from the "proffessional" reviewers mainly complained about the games difficulty and lack of auto-aim. Not all games have to be "noobed" people!

hollywood my wal mart around here also put it on the floors about a 4 days ago (they always do this).Before I go and buy it is there split screen co op campaign and is there split screen xboxlive?

No co-op campaign (it should have though since there's a NPC with you almost the entire game). I'm not 100% but I don't think there is split screen MP.
