Posts: 1,723  | I just watched Planet Terror last night, it's one of the movies from the grindhouse doublefeature thing...It was somewhat like a Dawn of the Dead based movies only a lot more blood, I didn't think it was to bad but i don't recomend buying it... Planet Terror --- 7.5

Posts: 1,536 | Dear God. I just saw the worst movie ever made. It is called Barbarella: Story of a Space Whore. Maybe back in 1968 it was cutting edge, but it sure didn't age well, just like Hanoi Jane, who plays barbarella. The story isn't worth mentioning, cause i had no idea what the hell was going on...i think LSD is a requirement before watching this movie. Shag carpeting and silver boots are not in short supply with this movie. Um, the good parts...well, she has nice legs, and wears some interesting outfits (Dr. Evil got some ideas from this movie for sure). It also has the most boobie shots i have ever seen in a PG movie--yes, PG with boobie shots. If it is ever your misfortune to watch this movie, you can see parts of this movie in other movies, if that makes sense. the guy she was after is named duran duran...hmmmm. i would recommend never watching this movie, unless you want a look back in time at a snapshot of 1968: psychedelic, anti war overtures (vietnam was in full swing), sex with hairy men, bad, bad clothing, and a horrible soundtrack. i would almost say watch it if you wanted a laugh, i think it tries to be funny. Highlight of the movie: when she was attacked by parakeets and finches...and they ripped most of her clothes off. have to give them mad props for parakeet attacks. i'd give it a 2/10. Pepper Jack would give it an 8.

Posts: 626 | the last movie i saw was death sentence it was uber violent and I loved it, I give it a 9 because Kevin bacon starts out the movie as a desk jockey and become a hard core bad ass by the end oh and some dude gets one of his legs blown off with a shot gun

Posts: 1,536 | ok. so it's 4 *, vs 4 THE *. Got it. Well, i coulda told you it would be ****, cause will farrell is in it. he has about 3 funny things he does, and he does them in all his movies. Like jim carrey, but jim has about 8 funny things, so he can do a movie and keep it pretty funny. will farrell movies lose their appeal after about 4 minutes. i can't believe you went to a theater and saw it. if there was ever a renter movie, that would be it. it's probably still better then barbarella.

Posts: 5,240 | Joe Louis: America's Hero ... Betrayed. ~ 9/10 I've always been a fan of documentaries and historical programs. It's been said Joe Lewis was the greatest boxer ever, something I never denied but I never truly understood what he went through until watching this doc. He served his country with honor yet for decades following WWII he was hounded by the IRS. Many believe Jackie Robinson broke the sports color barrier but if history is the judge, it was Joe Lewis who made it socially acceptable for a black man to succeed. A very moving program and something I would definitely recommend. |
