Everyone is seen as a liberal if they don't think the US is all-perfect. It's kinda pathetic and verging on communist!
Global warming probably won't do any significant damage in our lifetime but the next generation will have some nasty surprises.
We should be doing more but one thing that I all urge you to do is:
BOYCOTT THE TOYOTA PRIUS HYBRID!
It's no more economical (eco-friendly) than a European diesel hatchback. The Prius can get a claimed 48mpg....wow My dad's Volvo Saloon gets 60mpg+.
Do what you can but DON'T BUY A HYBRID!!!! |

there is no hard facts to show global warming. For every year we have "disasterous hurricaines and weather" we have a year like this year, where nothin happends. And as for tornadoes in FL, its NORMAL. Florida, the so called "sunshine" state, is really the lightning capitol of the US. We have some raunchy storms here, and tornados are normal because of our weather patterns. We get more tornados and storms than the mid west. Its a fact, look it up.
The earth goes through many heating and cooling periods. The surface used to be covered ear to ear w/ volcanos on land and sea blowing up all over the place.. do you think it was a cool 50%F then?? no, it was insainly hot. Then it cooled down and kept cooling till the ice age. Wow, the bad part of the ice age is over and now we have nice weather. It has been warming for hundreds of years.
Like its been said, its all government control. The kyoto accord was a joke, thats why we refused to sign it. It changes nothing. The only thing it did was give each country a set amount of "polution" they could produce per capita. If they didnt use that amount of polution, they could SELL it to other countrys who were not allotted enough "pollution points". IE Siberia could make billions selling unused pollution points to america or china, and it would weaken our GOP by forcing us to buy billions in "pollution points" because we wouldnt be allotted enough. That is the basic rundown of the kyoto accord, and why it was a joke. It didnt change anything, it just "leveled" the economic playing feild. It was a government redistribution scheme set to shackal the big countrys and empower smaller ones.
It is a joke. A political running point by the left. Like previously mentioned, we have been told we were gonna freeze to death, burn to death, run out of oil by 1980, and countless other liberal lies to trick people into voting liberal. The normal one besides "global warming" is "if you vote republican they are gonna take away your welfare and social security". I see it every voting cycle. The only reason "global warming" has been being said so long is that enough people blindly beleive it to keep its legs running. If you tell someone something long enough, they will start to believe it no matter how little truth there is in it, or how much evidence there is on the contrary.
How was your "EL Nino"?? Did california turn into a desert?? did florida dry up?? wheres the giant heat wave we had? oh wait, there were record LOWS during el nino.. and huge rain storms..silly huh.
quit listening to the politicians and go find real proof.
they use this to force you to buy expencive things that dont change anything, recycle objects that make more pollution to recyle than they actually save by doing so, allow them to pass economy squashing legislature and higher taxes in the name of "saving the earth", and give them more control because you are afraid and you think they know better than you do, and or it makes you FEEL GOOD.

Do what you can but DON'T BUY A HYBRID!!!! | actually i concider you a libby if you are to the left of where i stand. on a technical basis, that means you are more libby than me... LIBBY!! then again im only very concervative on a few things... aaaaaaaanyways...
diesel fuel releases much heavier byproducts into the air than the cheap gas the prius takes... so while you may get better mileage, you are still poluting, maybe even a lil more so. hmm.. YA JUST CANT WIN!!!
the answer is the new hydrogen fuel cell cars GM and a few other companies are experimenting with. Intake=water, only O2 comes out the tail. Its perfect! If any of you have no idea what im talkin about, i emplore you to go do some research on this tech. fill it up w/ a garden hose, it separates the hydrogen from the oxygen in the water using electricity, uses the hydrogen as fuel, and releases the oxygen into the air. Could there be a better solution besides a super efficient solar car(not yet invented)?

You are one stubborn dude. Global warming is so friggin real it's right in front of your nose. Have you ever hear that the ice caps are melting and many polar bears are dying? To conclude, what you say is a load of crap. | hate to break it to you, but the glaciers have been melting since the ice age? ever hear of the Yukon River? it's glacially fed and it's been around for hundreds of years. |

Diesel cars actually have a lower CO2/100km rating than Petrol cars. Diesel is the way forward....until we run out of old our friend, Crude oil
Hydrogen fuel cells are a good approach but again, they are very heavy because they are still electric cars. If they can better the battery technologies it will be viable but for now it's not economically viable. Electric motors are a good source of drive because they have a constant torque output at all rpm's so there is no need to have a normal style gearbox to utilise the torque characteristics of the engine. I like the idea but I absolutely LOVE the sound of an internal combustion spark-ignition engine
I don't need to do any research, I know enough about most technologies already |

DONT REMIND ME!! good thing i live in florida, and will only die a slow and agonizing death from ash inhilation, instead of the quick incineration.. oh wait... hmm... well, if it does ever explode, there will be proof of global warming

Posts: 5,094 | Forgive me if I have a hard time accepting the validity of CO2 measurements and temperature readings from the 1800’s. ----- If global warming holds true, the average global temperature could possibly increase 11.5 degree by 2100. 2100??? Do they honestly expect me to be worried about the probable apex of GW in 2100? I’m more concerned about Mutual Assured Destruction occurring in the next 15 years. ****, I’m more worried the Bears might start Grossman next year. |

There is no way to judge real global warming. We have only been trackin for a hundred or so years. What is that compared next to the billions and billions of years that the earth as been around. Its been a flaming volcanic gassy death ball, a beautiful foilage filled dino-land, an icey rock, and now were back to beatuiful foileage everywhere.. YES I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO SPELL FOILEAGE SO BITE ME!!
Who knows, maybe its gonna get smeltering hot again, maybe it will freeze again. NOONE KNOWS. Signs right now may or maynot point to hotter, tommorow it will look colder. The earth cycles, theres no way to stop it.. and im sorry but i really dont think we can do all that much to change it either way.
