Everyone likes TOOL!!!!

I'm fairly new to this board so I never stumbled into the Media Discussion section before. Low and behold I stumble upon people who not only know who Tool are but rank them as highly as I do (i.e. greatest/band/people/ entities in the entire universe).

The thing is; hardly anyone I know in the 'real world' knows who they are. SO why the whoopie-poop do computer games and Tool seem to go hand in hand?

Tool is the most overrated band that no one has ever heard of. Very lame band and the lead singer is a jerk. The had a jam session/meet & greet for a radio station up in philly and they made their FANS stand outside in the rain for 2 hours because he didn't want them to come in and look at him. The station trashed him the all day long the next day.

Tool is for tools

I can respect a band like Tool. Although I do not listen to them, I appreciate that they can make original, well thought out music. And that says something these days.

And yours was so original and inspiring towards Tool?

Tool are a great band, but in terms of metal...they are mediocre.

Tool sings about some demented crap. I don't really like them much at all, but i do like how their bass lines tend to drive the song; it's an interesting sound.
it's really all about power metal. that's the bee's knees (whatever that means...we could write a song about it).
