It's an ok deal, if you aren't looking to game on it.

This thing will NOT game, period. Whilst the CPU is ok, and the RAM will do, the integrated graphics are pityful and will not run really any games.

If you're just using it as a standard house-hold PC, it will be more than up to the task and will even let you run Vista Home Premium. Decent storage capacity too.

if ur looking for internet and document making.. yea thats more than ul ever need.. dont even concider trying to play games on it though.. atleast nothing current and intensive... or upgrading because compaqs are very anti upgrade friendly unless u pay the surcharge for compaq parts which is a rip.

thats what yer getting out of that ... but 1gig on vista is gonna chug really bad..

Just use XP, and only upgrade you need is a decent graphics card then you'll be able to play most games, except for big games released from around the start of this year.

I got a P4 3ghz, 1GB ram and ATI 3D card and i can play most games on it, even whores like STALKER ran fine on med settings.

1 gig ddr 2 is panzified too!!

wait for the DX11 cards to come out.. around xmas, and then wait a bit longer for them to become cheaper
then upgrade to atleast 2gig of ram, and ul be ok.. not superfantastic, but alot better than shane haha
